Shouldn't a girl fulfill her responsibilities as a daughter even after marriage? Can't a son-in-law be as good as a son, just like a daughter-in-law is like a daughter? Well, though we may have given it a thought zillion times and thought in favor or against the issue, we haven't seen anything being spoken or portrayed on screen.

'EK Ghar Banaunga' defies the orthodox rules and portrays a story, concerning the very issue of a girl handling her responsibilities towards her parents, post marriage and in the absence of her elder brother.

The show opens to show the female protagonist, Poonam's dilemma, where she faces the challenging situation of marrying and going away or staying unmarried, to take care of her parents. Will she, won't she? While numerous questions pop in her mind, in comes Aakash, who has the potential to be the perfect solution of all her worries.

Unlike the regular 'perfect bahu' character, who adapts and wins everyone's hearts in her husband's household, this serial is a wave of fresh air as it aims to break the stereotype.

Watch how a son-in-law works wonders, to win his in-laws and prove himself as a perfect son, while allowing his wife to be as devoted to his parents as to him. With an unusual theme, and a break from the monotonous saas-bahu soaps, this serial seems to be the first step towards directing the audience, pay attention to the conservative societal norms in practice. Who knows, but the serial could be an eye opener.

Watch out for the fresh look of the show, brought in by the main protagonists 'Aakash'  and 'Poonam', played by Ishita Dutta and Rahul Sharma, portraying the social issue with their charm and innocence. The show promises realistic issues, resolved with love and care, with of course dollops of romance and feel good factor. Stay tuned to watch the serial, Monday-Friday at 6.30 p.m, only on Star Plus.
