Sitting behind steering wheel he could not even explain to himself why he couldn't drive and leave her at the general hospital at the highway,
why he couldn't leave her without knowing that she is fine and can take care of herself.
It was in fact the practical and logical way out,and he should be doing that ,wasn't the logical path he always chose?
Wasn't he proud of his decision making capabilities and always felt that emotional inclination always made you vulnerable and weak and
that was the one thing he never wanted to be ,ever in his life.
He was one of those persons who believed that self help was the best help for all human beings and who don't have the guts to stand for themselves ,they well be damned.
He normally was never really bothered about other's suffering and gave a damn to what ever was happening in the world regardless of the fact that it involved him or not.
He did what ever he felt was right and had justified valid reason.
But tonight something changed which he somehow knew will never be back to normal again.
The unexplained pull was too strong, those staring eyes weren't letting him leave her, every time he tried to close his eyes those haunting eyes filled his imagination and started tugging him towards her.
Deeply frustrated and confused at his own inability to not being able to defend his common sense against this newly born strange emotion ,
he smashed his fist on the dashboard which did not help in any way to find an answer or reduce his annoyance at his treacherous actions.
Forced to bow down and unable to fight himself,he kept his hands on steering and his hands drove the hummer as if it was on autopilot and reached its destination on its own.
Surrounded by acres of farm lands he took her to his small cottage which was from where he used to take care of his farms which were at the outskirts of his village Barahgaon.
He used to stay at this cottage at the time of harvesting or if some other emergency required his presence.
He stopped in front of the cottage which was built keeping in mind the basic necessities for human sustenance and hence had limited amenities.
He lifted Meera's fragile body and took her into the cottage.
He put her on the single bed, detangled himself from her arms which were holding on to his neck so tight that he started wondering if she was actually unconscious, covered her with the sheet, settled her and let himself out of the room.
Meera woke up to the morning sounds of tweeting birds and after several attempts to adjust her eyelids to the pure and fresh sunlight seeping though the tightly closed windows, she found herself in some strange room which had nothing to boast of except an old antique iron almirah , a chair sort of sitting thing, single window closed , jug filled with water and a steel glass.
She tried to raise herself to sit up on the bed which was crouched under her weight and failed thrice, there was no other option to try now and she understood that.
She tried to call someone but didn't know who.
Tired she let herself lay on the bed.
The only thing left now was to recall everything she remembered.
Alright people, that's it .
Hope you all liked it .
