Rani Bhatiani sees Pratap holding the sword and ask him to keep it down, saying that Ranaji is already upset with him and wont be too pleased if he comes to know of this. She asks him to keep quiet about this incident and to have some food first since he hadn't eaten anything since two days. Pratap complies and he proceeds to have his food but is stopped by Rani Javantibai, who reminds him of his disciplinary routine. Pratap obeys his mother and bathes. When he asks his mother for help in tying the turban, she chides him for being grown up enough to question his father but still unable to tie a turban by himself.
At the pooja, Pratap asks Rani Javantibai as to why Ranaji took Shams Khan's insults lying down in the durbar instead of giving him a fitting reply. In turn, Rani Javantibai asks him why he couldn't offer his daily pooja last day inspite of it being his regular routine or why he took the entire blame on himself when everyone knew that not he but Kunwar Shakti was guilty of starting the fight? She explains him that when Rana Udhay Singh bowed down to Sher Shah, he had to compromise with his 'kshatriya dharm' for the sake of his people, for Mewar was already in a poor state and one more war could destroy it forever. And as for what happened in the durbar, had Ranaji made even a tiny mistake in a fit of anger, it would have ruined his plans of overthrowing Shams Khan forever. She told him that the treaty cost him so much that he had to give away a lot of money to Shams Khan and now he is paying all wages to the employees from his personal fund. As a result, the workers have stopped taking their wages. Pratap realizes his mistake on hearing all these and decides to apologize to his father.
Rana Udhay Singh remembers Shams Khan's taunts and Pratap's questions while dressing up. Rani Bhatiani enters and helps him in completing his look. She tells him that she expected to spend some time with him but knew of his priorities at the same time and hence couldn't stop him from going. Udhay Singh tells her that today he's going to take the first step for Mewar's freedom and asks if Pratap is released from jail. Rani Bhatiani replies in positive and he tells her to tell Pratap to remember the lesson learnt for the rest of his life. Rani Bhatiani asks him to return soon.
Pratap goes to Ranaji's room to meet him and get to know that he had left from the guards. He rushes out hoping to catch up with him and is stopped by Kunwar Shakti, who accuses him of taking the entire blame on himself just to earn praises from everyone. Pratap tells him that instead of being praised he was punished and imprisoned but Shakti refuses to listen, saying he too could have stayed in confinement for two days and earned praises. Pratap gives up on him when he refuses to see sense and runs to the main gate where he was stopped by the guards, who tell him that Ranaji had strictly instructed them not to let him leave without security. Pratap approaches Devilaal and asks him to take him to Ranaji. Devilaal initially refuses but later agrees to take him. At the gate, Devilaal gives a bagful of money to the guard saying its for his sister's wedding, which surprises Pratap since Rani Javantibai told him that the employees weren't taking their salaries. When he questions Devilaal about it later, a shocked Devilaal manages to fumble a reply that he keeps helping people in distress.
In the Mughal camp, Inayat Khan comes to meet Shams Khan who was enjoying the horses received from Uday Singh and was planning to crush the Rajputs using their own horses. He informs him of receiving a group of ( kis cheez ki toli tha ? ). A man tells him that they expected a lot from Udhay Singh but he submitted Mewar to the Mughals like a coward. Shams Khan orders his men to take him away and put him to death – if he truly believed that Udhay Singh is a coward then none can be a bigger fool than him. Rajputs are like cheetah, the more they are suppressed, the more they tend to attack back. And right now, Udhay Singh is definitely planning something big against them, but keeping quiet so that their plans don't get foiled. And Shams Khan was waiting for one small mistake on their part to crush them forever.
