It was time for the Grand Finale of MasterChef Australia: The Professionals, and to find out who will be Australia's first ever Professional MasterChef. The journey started with 18 qualified chefs competing in the toughest cooking environment in Australia. They are already professionals' chefs; hence it was surely going to be a tough fight till the finish line. Let's take a look at the finale episode and find out the winner of MasterChef : The Professionals.

The grand finale had the top three contestants, Rhys BadcockSarah Knights and Rhett Willis who were all aiming at the top spot. As expected the Finale had 3 rounds and at the end of the third round, the chef with the highest points will take away the crown. To make the challenge more challenging, in the first round David Chang had come up with an Invention Test, followed by the Master himself ,Marco Pierre White Pressure Test and a finally a Restaurant Service Challenge to cook for 120 of Australia's most successful chefs.

In round one, Momofuku chef/founder David Chang brought the Reinvention Test when the contestants had to choose three of his favorite ingredients to create a dish with — a random knife draw meant their ingredients were miso, eggs and chicken. The judges weren't impressed with the dishes they were presented with, but they loved Rhett'spresentation and gave him the early lead. So at the end of Round 1 the scores were –Rhys: 17/30Sarah: 17/30 and Rhett: 19/30

Round two had the Master himself, Marco Pierre White cooking in the Pressure Test. The challenge was to cook his simple-looking leek and lobster terrine. It was one of the most difficult challenges in the entire series. Although all three contestants struggled, but in the end Rhys managed to impress both the judges.  So at the end of Round 2 the scores were – Rhys: 34/50Sarah: 32/50 and Rhett: 31/50

The Final round the finalists had to cook a three-course service for 120 chefs who joined them in the MasterChef kitchen. Well, you might wonder how they can each cook for 120 chefs, right!! Well, they did get to choose 2 contestants who were eliminated during the series, to help them during this challenge. Rhys picked Kiah and CassieSarah pickedNathan and Coop, and Rhett chose Michael and Nick. It was never an easy task to perform under such intense pressure. But all three of them managed to complete the task.

And after all this intense competition, Marco Pierre White and Matt Preston were all set to announce Australia's first ever Professional MasterChef. And the winner was… Rhys. Yes, Rhys was declared the winner of MasterChef Australia: The Professionals. The final score on the board read – Rhys: 50/70Sarah: 48/70 and Rhett: 48/70.  For his culinary efforts Rhys was awarded with $200,000 cash prize and a round-the-world trip and Runners-up Sarah and Rhys were both awarded $10,000 cash prizes to help them chase their food dreams.
