Life OK has finally bid good bye to Savitri' and welcomed a new show called Ek Boond Ishq' on the time slot of 8.30 p.m. The show is a drama series which premiered on 9th September and will go on from Monday to Friday. Being produced by BBC, the show has up the spirits of the audience as they are now interested to see what's unique in the show.
Unique is what I call the circumstances portrayed in the show. The female protagonist Tara' is shown as the independent, energetic, bubbly, give it back' kind of girl, who will eventually agree to get married to a boy named Mritunjay' to save her family from a financial crisis. However, little does she know that the groom in waiting is facing charges for rape and murder in jail.
Tara's role is portrayed by newcomer Chavvi Pandey, while Mritunjay is donned by another newcomer Viraf Phiroz Patel' in the show. Despite fresh new faces, the show has actor Vishwajeet Pradhan, essaying the role of a eunuch.
Although the casting and the plot looks quite interesting with the show's premiere, the unfolding of the plot to fit in the characters, according to the plot, will take time.
Mritunjay's introductory scene in Bhopal central jail' as the caged prisoner, with big dialogues and Tara's entry brashy little fight followed with a foot tapping jumma chumma' number was a bit unrelated though. However, it will be an interesting watch to witness this extraordinary love story amidst a backdrop of conspiracy, suspense and mystery.
What came as silent, yet made a punching impact on the show was Vishwajeet's performance as a eunuch. The introductory scene of his, as he stepped out from his car and walked in bright red lehenga up the stairs of a palace did raise many eyebrows. His loud makeup, as he did aarti, was actually quite mysterious and intimidating.
It's for the first time, any small screen actor has chosen to deliver such a challenging role. With his big time performances in Hindi films, the audience will definitely look up to him for his substantial role as a eunuch for sure, especially his role in this love story.
With Kalawati aka Vishwajeet portraying the role of a eunuch with evil intentions might help the audience predict the storyline eventually, but as of now, stay tuned to the show's prime time slot, to decipher the code of mystery and love.
