WEEK 1 : September 2nd to 7th
Jagya and Sanchi head out for their romantic dinner date (more like hostage taking with Sanchi the kidnapper, Ira the abettor and Jagya the victim). That night Sanchi confesses her love to Jagya on the street, corners him in the living room, stalks him to his room, gifts him a handmade card and attempts to seduce him. She receives a cold shoulder and a closed door in the face for her efforts. Jagya then gets a move on in the morning and puts distance between him and his stalker by returning to Jaitser.
Over at the haveli, Sumitra's behaviour is giving Bhairon and the other Singhs indigestion and mental tension. According to her, Ganga is a grahan which has cast her shadow over son's happiness and is refusing to budge despite the poor women not even being in the same village. Unfortunately everyone else does not see the same truth that Sumitra perceives thus leaving her stranded on paranoia island. Gehna reassures her that everyone wants Jagya's happiness and advises her not to push Jagya away in her attempt to secure his future.
Jagya and Ganga are suffering the pangs of separation and both decide to deal with it by throwing themselves into their studies; him in Mumbai and her in Mangalore. Ganga also commits herself to returning to Jaitsar once her studies are completed and Sanchi prepares for life as Mrs. Dr Jagdish. Six months pass and Jagya finds himself still unable to move past his feelings for Ganga. His return to Jaitser brings great joy to the Singhs as their faith in him has been rewarded. Jagya finds out about Ganga's feelings for him but dodges commenting about his own feelings for her.
WEEK 2 : September 9th to 14th
Anandi decides to not wear her pallu at home after some encouragement from her in-laws. Chanda approaches Anandi because she is concerned that someone has performed black magic on her son. Anandi soothes her fears and sets up an appointment for Chanda with her family doctor so that he will be able to examine Chanda's son and determine what the situation is.
The Shekhars celebrate Ganesh Caturdasi and happen to realize that both Jagya and Sanchi have completed their studies thus leaving no reason for further delay in getting the two married. They call up the Badi Haveli and Sumitra happily agrees to the plan of starting wedding preparations. She also agrees to Ira's request that the Shekhar family priest set the wedding date.
In the meantime, Jagya remembers his commitment to help Ganga achieve stability in her future by arranging a job for her in his hospital. He does however become conscious of the battle of his feelings towards her and his commitment to Sanchi so decides to help her find a job at a friend's hospital instead. Ganga is approached by her creepy neighbour, Balachandran, and offered a job at the hospital in Mangalore that he works in. She refuses the opportunity as she is awaiting her return to Jaitsar and the job promised by Jagya. Unfortunately Jagya calls her up and informs her of his plans to send her to another hospital leaving Ganga heartbroken. To ease the situation, she informs him that she has already secured a job in Mangalore.
Ganga arrives at the Mangalore hospital praying that she secures the job offered as it is presently her only option in securing her family's future. She does not see the lusty intentions that Balachandran has towards her and is unaware that this job offer is his opportunity to try and take advantage of her.
A ward boy, Swaminathan, witnesses Balachandran telling Ganga she has secure the job and starts to warn Ganga about Balachandran however Ganga misunderstands that Swami is questioning how she got the job and assures him that she is qualified for the role and will do her best. Ganga then bumps into Ravi, Jagya's friend, who informs her that the hospital she is employed by does not have a good reputation for treatment or for employee relations. Ravi tries to encourage Ganga to seek a job elsewhere but Ganga confesses that the urgency and difficulty of her circumstance means that she cannot refuse any opportunity given to her.
Anandi and Shiv decide to take a more active role in creating awareness regarding female safety and self-defence. They host a workshop at a local college which covers these topics through discussion, scenarios and role plays.
Ganga starts her job and is allocated to the children's ward. Balachandran follows and watches her obsessively throughout the hospital. Jagya is shocked to discover through Ravi that Ganga lied to him about her job offer and realizes that she must have felt bad about his reneging on his promise to get her a job at his hospital.
The Shekhar famiy priest provides two mahurats for Jagya and Sanchi's wedding; the 27th of this month and then another date six months later. Despite the hesitation voiced by both families, Ira and Sumitra persuade/convince/emotionally blackmail everyone into getting their way. Anandi discovers that Sanchi has been bribing the priest to issue dates that suit her purposes. She confronts Sanchi about the matter to which Sanchi replies she did it all for Jagdish and securing her future. Sanchi then emotionally blackmails Anandi by stating that she expects Anandi to support her and not tell the family about this as it will create unnecessary drama.
Balachandran continues his mission to get closer to Ganga by spending time with Mannu albeit without Ganga's knowledge or permission. Upon finding out, Ganga collects her son and reprimands the creep. Balachandran realizes that Ganga will not be easily pursued and decides to use underhand methods to be close to her.
Jagya and Anandi meet for coffee when the former makes a short trip to Jaistar and discuss Jagya's upcoming marriage to Sanchi. Anandi is reciting all the changes that Sanchi has undergone to prepare for her married life to Jagya when suddenly they realize Sanchi is seated with her friends behind the divider next to their table. They overhear Sanchi's true intentions regarding her marriage; she is only faking the changes, has he has no plans to remain in Jaitsar and mocks the Singhs's traditions.
WEEK 3 : September 16th to 21st
Sanchi and her friends depart leaving Jagya and Anandi in turmoil. Jagya questions Anandi as to whether he should continue with the marriage. Anandi is unsure about the situation and requests Jagya for some time so that she can discuss the matter with Shiv. Unfortunately Shiv is out of town due to work and Anandi feels trapped as she does not know what to believe or what to do so that this situation can be resolved.
While on his way to Jaitar, Jagya drives to a temple and attempts to sort through the mess that his life has become. He recalls the words of his family, Sanchi's drama, the Shekhars expectations and his own feelings for Ganga. After some soul searching he makes a decision and heads back to Udaipur.
All the Singhs, expect Sanchi who is out at the time, are busy discussing the upcoming wedding preparations. Shiv returns home a day earlier than expected and Anandi wants to talk to him about Sanchi but is interrupted by the doorbell ringing. They both come downstairs to find Jagya being welcomed by the family which shocks Anandi.
Jagya humbly requests for forgiveness from the Shekhars and then announces his intention to call off the wedding as he does not think that they will make a good match. The Shekhars are enraged and take turns in confronting Jagya about his decision. He remains unmoved and earns the wrath of the family as a result.
In Mangalore, Balachandran continues with his nefarious intentions by arranging for Ganga to undertake night shifts after his attempts to please her through gifts fail. During the night shift, he attempts to force himself on Ganga but she fights back and locks him inside the room. She then calls for help and informs the authorities about the matter. In an attempt to save face the authorities accept Balachandran's accusation that he found Ganga stealing injections and she attacked him. As a result Ganga is arrested despite her protests of innocence.
The Shehkars inform the Singhs about Jagya's betrayal before he can. When Jagya returns home the family is awaiting his explanation about what has happened. Just as he starts explaining, he receives a phone call informing him of Ganga's arrest and he decides to head to Mangalore to help her. Sumitra refuses to allow him to go anywhere especially when it is in relation to Ganga.
WEEK 4 : September 23rd to 28th + 30th
Jagya requests his family to trust him regarding his decision to break his engagement and to also head to Mangalore.
Sanchi returns home and is informed of Jagya's decision. She is initially in denial and this followed by intense rage wherein she starts breaking things and yelling. Her family attempts to comfort her and paint Jagya as the villain. Anandi cannot stand the false blame being heaped upon Jagya and reveals to the family the conversation that they overheard between Sanchi and her friends.
Anandi confesses that it threw Jagya in a spin hearing Sanchi confession of faking her behaviour and insulting her future in-laws. Sanchi explains that she only said those things to save face with her friends as they had been teasing her about her lowering her standards by marrying into the village lifestyle. The Shekhars become upset when they realize that they have wronged Jagya and that Sanchi's immaturity is what wrecked the engagement. They scold Sanchi for her behaviour and decide to speak with the Singhs again to see if they can fix the damage and get the wedding back on track.
The police refuse to believe Ganga's protestations of innocence and claims of being framed. She is locked in a cell for the night. Jagya arrives and they both have a conversation about the situation that Ganga has found herself in. He promises to help Ganga prove her innocence.
Meanwhile Sanchi is trying to call Jagya but he repeatedly cuts her call. So she calls Sumitra instead and finds a sympathetic ear. The Singhs try to figure out how to help Sanchi.
Jagya and Ganga manage to prove Balachandran's accusations false and get Ganga released from jail. He convinces Ganga to take Mannu and Ghansyam and accompany him back to Jaitsar where she will be safe and happy. She agrees to do so and they head to the Jaitsar hospital. Unfortunately everyone else also rocks up to the hospital and finds the two there.
Sumitra has had enough and rages over the damage that Ganga has done/is doing to her son's life. In all the yelling and accusation, Jagya places sindoor in Ganga's maang thus declaring her as his wife. Everyone is shocked black and white. Sanchi again goes into denial whilst the Shekhars are left disgusted by Jagya's action. Ira gives Anandi an ultimatum to choose either the Singhs or the Shekhars. The Singhs say goodbye to Anandi and tell Jagya that they are deeply hurt and disappointed by what he has done. Lal Singh congratules Jagya and Ganga and then offers them his support.
Both families return to their homes hurt and angry. The Singhs are in shock whilst the Shekhars are commiserating about Jagya's and the Singhs' real natures being revealed. As a result, Anandi is directly and indirectly being insulted by her in-laws insinuations regarding her and her family's actions.
