First of all, the CFC DT would like to thank all the members for being a part of this forum. With this announcement we would like to remind the members about the forum rules which includes some amendments to the old ones as well as some new rules which are to be followed hence forth. We CFC DT reckon that these rules will help in create a better environment on the Forum. Therefore, members are requested to abide by these rules at all times in the forum.
Ground Rules of discussion on a particular FC:
You all are more than welcome to discuss about the relevant celebrity in your FC including their previous works, shows and upcoming shows but please do note that discussions on personal life of any celebrity will not be entertained. Any discussion about actors/ Jodi's/ shows that is unrelated to the particular FC is forbidden. We've been lenient about this for some time, but from this point and onwards if you are found directly or indirectly bringing in an actor or and actress, fan groups/members, or even a show that doesn't have to do with your FC, strict action will be taken. For Instance: If the FC is of Barun, then you can discuss about his shows like IPK, BHPH, DMG and others as well as his co-actors of that particular show but that should be done in context to the show only. Any irrelevant comments and speculations are not allowed unless it is reported in the media or confirmed by the actors themselves - fans are not to speculate about the actors personal life in the FC. Additionally, FC can NOT be used to target other members and NO pinpointing activity/mock or taking digs here toward other fan groups. Any derogatory references or name callings against actors /characters/members/Dev team members are strictly prohibited .
Discussion and Criticism:
Well this is another problematic area since many of you get confused with how is criticism different from discussion. Constructive criticism means criticism or advice that is useful and intended to help or improve something, often with an offer of possible solutions A critic is someone who does not lose the main theme of the issue being discussed and would present his opinions in rather objective way free from prejudices and creates a neutral environment for everyone who wants to have a say on that issue. We DT are not implying that critique only needs to be saying positive words; negative comments which are free from hurling curses, name calling, harsh comments, and abusive terms are more than welcome. Criticism on the character is allowed but DO NOT call it criticism if all you are doing is posting snide remarks on an actor's looks or personal life. That is not considered critical from any point. Also, to those who cannot take a single thing being said against their favourite character please learn and respect that everyone has different views from each other. Just like you would not go reporting the littlest nuisance to a police officer and would probably ignore it. Apply the same method here. Ignore what you don't like. Furthermore, when we have discussions going on, there are bound to be two opposing sides and since India-Forums is based on DISCUSSIONS you will find a lot of people who are on the opposite end of the spectrum so don't fret over every little detail they post and don't get hurt over what they think is right. However, please note that ANY criticism containing foul or vulgar language will be dealt with severity.
Personal Attacks on members:
The CFC DT has come across number of personal attacks issues in the forum. Please refrain yourself from using expressions or language in posts that are considered foul, vulgar, hateful, bigoted, sexually harassing, racially offensive, or are in any way discriminatory. It doesn't matter how much you dislike somebody there is absolutely no reason for you to go on an attacking spree against them and disrupt the environment of the forum. Please always remember that IF participation Guidelines and COC strictly prohibits "Attack against fellow members" and anyone found doing do will be dealt with severity. "
Spamming and Chatting:
Chatting in not allowed in the FC. Members are requested to limit their personal chatting and discuss about the relevant celebrity on their FC. For Instance: if you're part of the Katrina Kaif FC and she's doing a movie with Ranbir, acceptable to talk about but then don't get carried off topic and bring in Deepika and the movie she's doing and then her co star and so on. Please stick to the main discussion try to make it relevant. Additionally, Spamming is prohibited in India Forums. Posting only emotions and one liner comments multiple times is not allowed. If such post are found they will be trashed without further notice.
Celebrity Slander:
We understand that you are not going to be a fan of all celebrities but that does not allow anyone to resort to name calling .We do not want anyone riling up fans of particular celebrities and hence making the section a war zone. Don't mock fans as it's not a crime to love a celebrity and do not be sarcastic and pass it off as humour.
Bringing physical attributes into discussion :
Members are requested to avoid any direct or indirect discussion regarding looks and physical attributes of any celebrity. Such negative posts are strict NO as far as IF rules go. Anyone now onwards found making negative posts on physical appearances of a character/actor/fellow member will face strict action, even indirect mention of the matter will not be entertained.
Issues on External Sites:
Please keep this away from here. What happens on Twitter and Facebook stays on Facebook and Twitter. Please see the site admin's note on this concern: External Content from Social Networking Sites. Also Privacy and safety of members is of the prime importance in IF. If anyone is found sharing members private and personal content from other social networking site on IF, they will be held responsible for breaching privacy and should be prepared for the consequences.
Reporting an Issue:
If you see anyone breaching the rules in any of the threads in the main forum, please do not rant about it in your FC. Instead make use of the "REPORT" button and report the thread by stating the reason clearly. As soon as the Dev Team comes online they would take the necessary action. If you do not like a certain celebrity or fan group, Please avoid each and every issues because most of the time there are only discussion going amongst the members of the FC. Here is a little catch for the stalkers -If you report any post that as no legit reason, you will be reliable for action against you for stalking.
One FC per Celebrity:
Do not open more than ONE FC per celebrity. We don't need two Aishwarya Rai FC's running at the same time. And just cause you opened the FC the first time doesn't mean you get to open every single one after that give other members of the FC a turn as well. If you see an FC that's really inactive and you'd like to start a new one then PM the topic starter first ask them if it's okay for you to open a new topic if they agree then PM someone on the DT to get the old topic closed. If you feel that the old topic starter is being unreasonable then PM the DT and we will deal with it.
No Moral Policing:
Please refrain from engaging in any moral policing in your FC . If you find anyone breaching rules or have a problem with certain member, Please use Report button. The section DTs/GMs will deal with the issue at the earliest possible. India Forums is a platform to allow everyone to express their opinions freely within the COC and respectable limitations. Members have the freedom to express their own perspective, which may disagree and or contradict someone else's point of view. Everyone is welcome to express their opinions within the Forum rules and IF COC. Hence moral policing will NOT be tolerated.
Penalties for breaching the Rules:
Any FC found breaking the Rules of the forum for the first time will receive a Warning Note by the CFC DT. Further breaking of the rule of the forum will lead to a 24 hour closure of the thread with appropriate warning and WL raises for all involved. After the thread is reopened, any more violations on the rules will lead to 48 hour closure with appropriate warnings and WL rises. For the third time, the FC will be closed for 72 hours with warnings and WL raises for everyone involved. Any further offences after that point will lead to the permanent closure of the Fan Club.
Note: On addition to these please also look at IF participation guidelines, rules on Cyber Bullying and forum section rules. As all of these will be implemented when moderating the forum. These are a compiled version of rules that will be followed whilst moderating CFC forum. This compiled version was created do members could have an opportunity to refresh all these rules in one single sticky. Please do note that these rules are collected on the pressing issues that are in the forum currently. All other rules which are not mentioned above are still to be followed.
