Originals' down

Supernatural is like the cockroach of
The CW " in a totally good way! No
matter what happens on the
network's schedule, the nine-year-
old Supernatural tends to perform
pretty well, it's a total survivor. On
Tuesday night, Supernatural was up
29 percent from last week's lower-
than-usual performance. While The
Originals slipped 14 percent to a new
all-time low. (And if you haven't
seen it yet, check out the first trailer
for Supernaturals Bloodlines spin-
off).
Also Tuesday: Fox's lineup was
largely steady. ABC saw mild dips for
Agents of SHIELD and Celebrity Wife
Swap . NBC's The Voice fell to an all-
time low, but About a Boy was up
slightly and Growing Up Fisher was
flat.

Supernatural' ratings rise for spin-
off, tie New Girl'

The CW unveiled the backdoor pilot
for its Supernatural spin-off on
Tuesday night. The result? Ratings
were up " a little. Bloodlines posted
2.1 million viewers and a 1.0 rating
among adults 18-49, up a tenth of a
point from last week. Just as notably,
the episode was up 25 percent from
its Originals lead-in. EW readers
were pretty down on the pilot, with
only 30 percent wanting to see more
in our poll.
Here's what's competitively
interesting: Supernatural actually tied
Fox's New Girl in the adult demo,
and The Originals tied Fox's Glee .
This says more about how badly Fox
did last night than how well The CW
performed, but still ... pretty stunning.
Fox's lineup last night is renewed for
another season, so all will return,
though it's very hard to imagine the
network keeping this Tuesday block
intact.
Also Tuesday, the first part of the
Chicago Fire / Chicago PD crossover
on NBC coincided with a 6 percent
rise in the ratings. The Voice and
Growing Up Fisher were about the
same as last week, but About a Boy
was down 11 percent. CBS' NCIS
grew 14 percent, while the rest of the
crime drama lineup was roughly
steady. ABC's SHIELD was steady,
while Goldbergs and Trophy Wife
both improved compared to their last
original airings.
