Chapter 3 :

All rushed to the nursery window to see the new member of Rawte family, or you can say it ETF family.Riya and Saakshi literally pushed their nose against the window glass, Aisha was trying to look inside properly by putting both of her palms on the sides of her eyes, Lisa and Nitu was trying to make their places near the window, and the rest of the men standing helplessly behind them as they didn't find any way to get themselves closer to that window. They were listening to the girl's voices.

Saakshi : Wow, so cute!!

Aisha : He's adorable!!!

Riya : So sweet !! ekdum Rasgulla!!!

Liza : God !! He looks like an angel.

Nitu : Look how he's looking around... As if he can understand everything.

Aisha : Iska dad dinbhar sabko SYS dete phirte hain...ysko toh samajhdaar hona hi tha.

Riya : I hope daddy ka gussa isme na ho...

Saakshi : Aur muma ka paagalpanti vhi...

Liza : Aur dono ka zidd vhi...

Rathod : Arre ladies, first let Rawte see his son na..

Aisha : First comes first. You both came late, so stand in the cue.

Shree : Sir, where's Arjun sir?

Chotu and Rathod looked around and saw him standing outside the ICU. Rathod moved there and peeped in the ICU. She was lying inside, surrounded by equipments. He never saw her like this, deadbeat, silent, calm, and off colored. She had always been a thunderstorm, living each and every moment of her life. Her one glimpse can convert a gloomy day to a brighter one. He put his left hand on Arjun's shoulder, who was staring at her, down hearted.

Rathod : She'll  get through soon. Don't worry. Tujhe or tere bte ko yehi sahi track pe rakh sakti hain , so she'll be back. Come let's see Junior, let her rest.

Arjun : You go, Rathod. I'll stay here till she'll come round.

Rathod : But...

Arjun : I'll meet her first, Rathod. At our first meeting I don't want to tell my son that his mother is not OK.

...

Morning, 7.00 am.

All were gathered in the corridor, Arjun was still standing at ICU door.

Rathod : Guys you all were stayed up whole night here. Now go home and take some rest. I'll stay here.

Aisha : No, sir. Shree & I'll stay here, you, Arjun sir and rest of you go home and take some rest.

Riya : No, Aisha. You & Chotu didn't move an inch from here from last two days. I'll stay with Shree. Baaki sab jao.

Rathod : No, you all did a lot, & now I'm here. You all go, I'll stay with Rawte, (pointing to him) do you think any of us can move that mountain from there?

Liza : But sir you've driven here form Delhi, you need rest. Let Riya stay with Shree. Saakshi, Nitu and I come back after breakfast, and then they'll go home.

Shree: haan, yeh thik hain. You all go & take rest. When you'll come back then we'll go.

Rathod was about to deny that, when he saw Arjun getting inside the ICU with doctor. He and the team rushed to the door and Arjun came out.

Rathod : What happened?

Arjun didn't answer. His face was telling them there's something serious. All were getting impatient when doctor came out with a smile.

Doctor : Well, Mr. Rawte, she've gained conscious and is out of danger.

Arjun : Can I ?

Doctor : No, She's sleeping now. Let her rest. You can meet her after we shift her to cabin. Till then have some patience.

Rathod : & how long it takes?

Doctor : (smiling) Till visiting hour. Excuse me.. (she moved to her cabin but stopped on her tracks)...& She want's to meet her son first, so it may be a little longer.

Chotu : Yeh lo, aab yeh "Lady in white coat" bhi hamare sath khel rahi hain!!

Liza : No, she's right. We all should give her time to recover fast. Furthermore, she'll sleep at least for some 2-3 hours. We've waited enough, so some more 2-3 hours would not make any difference.

Arjun looked at the people around him. How much they care for him, his family, no, actually they are his family; and its time he should play his part. He coughed to seek their attention.

Arjun : What are you doing here? Go home, don't create a mob here.

Saakshi : But Arjun...

Arjun : Go home...All of you. And don't show up until visiting hours, Samjhe ya...

All : Samajh gaye, sir.

 The next instant, he found himself standing alone in the corridor.

Arjun let out a deep sigh and aging looked through the glass window of ICU to her, she is sleeping peacefully and all the instruments were removed from her body. It was a relief to see her safe.

He sat on the chair outside the ICU, rested his head against the wall and closed his eyes. He always hates this hospital thing, specially the smell of disinfectants and other chemicals. But now, he have to adjust himself here, for some more time.

All of a sudden, a familiar smell stroked his nose, overlapping this hospital smell; he smiled inwardly, and raised his hand to grab the cup, without opening his eyes.

Arjun : Why didn't you go home Rathod? You need rest, and you have to go Office na?

Rathod : (streaching his arms) Ek din bunk karna banta hain yaar. After all I'm a Mamu now.

Arjun : (looked at Rathod) Mamu?

Rathod knew that look very well.

Rathod : OK, ok, Chachu. Thik hain?

Arjun : (sipping his tea) Hmm.

Rathod : Anyways, congratulations.

Arjun : Thanks...(Rathod raised an eyebrow) for the ride.

Morning, 9.30 am.

Aisha entered the hospital corridor with a big casserole and found both of her bosses dozed off supporting each other. She stopped on her tracks, looking at that rarest scene in front of her. Both ACPs were sleeping resting their heads on each other's shoulders. Arjun's saliva was wetting Rathod's hair while Rathod's was wetting Arjun's Shirt.

Aisha was thinking about her next step, while someone bumped onto her from behind. She turned to smack that person but she found two of the ETF girls frozen into their places gaping at the horrendous scene. She couldn't help her from smiling at them. She was about to call the girls while she saw rest of the people coming. She quickly shook Riya and Sakshi.

Aisha : Wake up girls!!!

Riya : Sakshi, pinch me, am I dreaming?

Sakshi : I think we both dreaming the same...

Aisha pinched both and both screamed. This broke ACP's little nap and they stood up at once.

Rathod : What are you doing here? You all are supposed to be at home.

Aisha : I just came here for breakfast.

She showed them her casserole.

Arjun : Sab apna apna kitchen saath le aay ho?

Now Aisha noticed at her friends, each of them was carrying casseroles.

Shree : We thought...

Chotu : Don't worry ... jo bachega...I'll take care of them.

Rathod : Ok, Rawte, come let's freshen up.
