The shows in question are, Beintehaa and Rangrasiya.
Beintehaa: The show is centered on Islam. It is a passionate love story and will be produced by Farhan Salaruddin's Fortune Productions. The lading lady for the show is Amrita Rao's younger sister Preetika Rao.
A film journalist by profession, Preetika had her own Bollywood column with South Side Movie Magazine in Chennai and in Banaglore, where she contributed to from Mumbai. During her stint as a columnist, Preetika has contributed to film articles in leading papers across Bangalore and Mumbai.
With this show, Preetika marks her debut on television. She made her debut in Tamil cinema in December 2010, with the romantic film, Chikku Bukku, with Arya and Shriya Saran. Beintehaa is currently shooting across the exotic locales in Bhopal.
Beintehaa premieres on December 29, 2013 at the 9:00PM slot.
The second show is Rangrasiya: Once again a love story, set in army background, is being produced by Nautanki Films.Ashish Sharma and Sanaya Irani play the main leads of this drama series. The show is tipped to be on the lines of Yash Chopra's magnum opus Jab Tak Hai Jaan.
Rangrasiya premieres on December 29, 2013 at the 9:30PM slot.
Most of the recent launches on Colors have really not faired well except for Comedy Nights With Kapil. Colors is striving hard to maintain their number two position and faces stiff competition from Zee TV.
Bigg Boss 7 has really not given the required boost to the channel's staggering TRPs.
After playing pivotal roles on screen where she wowed audiences with her chirpy, bubbly characters, Sanaya Irani is all set to make her debut as a dashing young Rajasthani Bride in Colors' upcoming show Rangrasiya. Produced by noted television producer Saurabh Tewari who has a number of hit shows to his credit, the show will be replacing Bigg Boss. According to sources, the show is about a girl who believes in love and how her path crosses with a man, who doesn't believe in it. The crew of Rangrasiya has been shooting in the harsh desert terrains in the Rann of Kutch, as the show is a love story set along the borders of India. Colors TV has been gearing up for the biggest fiction launch for the channel this year which will be Sanaya Irani's come back to the TV screen.

Rangrasiya is an upcoming show that will replace Bigg Boss in December. Produced by Saurabh Tewary, who is behind the hit show Madhubala, Rangrasiya stars Sanaya Irani, last seen in Chhanchhan and Ashish Sharma best known for his role inGunahon Ka Devta. He was last seen in Rab Se Sona Ishq. The promo ofRangrasiya has been shot in the Rann of Kutch, and the episodes will be filmed in Jaisalmer. Says Saurabh, "It's a passionate, edgy love story and Rajasthan provides the best backdrop for the scale and grandeur of the show. It is an ideal place to shoot romance, passion and aggression." The serial is about Rudra (Ashish), a border security personnel and Parvati (Sanaya), an orphan girl, who are ideologically different. While Parvati believes in love, Rudra hates anyone who invests in that emotion, and yet they get attracted to each other. Both Sanaya and Ashish will be banking on this show as their last outings did not exactly stirke a chord with the viewers.

Viacom 18s Hindi GEC, Colors, is all set to bring out two new shows this December. Beintehaa' and Rangrasiya' are the two soaps that the channel is betting on once their biggest property - Bigg Boss - finishes its current season next month. The promos for both the new shows are doing the rounds right now.
Beintehaa', starring Preetika Rao, is a passionate love story produced by Farhan Salruddin's Fortune Productions. It is currently being shot in exotic locales in Bhopal. Salruddin said about the leading lady, "The character required the innocence and vulnerability of a small town girl, yet with a certain strength and spunk. Preetika has all the required elements and hence we chose her for the role."
The other show, Rangrasiya', is set in Rajasthan and will be produced by Saurabh Tewari from Nautanki Films, who has a number of hit shows to his credit. This would essentially pit the two shows against Star's Diya aur baat hum' and Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai' as well as Pavitra Rishta' and Qubool Hai on Zee TV, and Desh ki Beti - Nandini' and Jee Le Zara' on Sony.
What remains to be seen is whether the two shows will work as primetime fillers or will they actually gain popularity and become primetime success stories like Colors' other properties - Balika Vadhu', Madhubala' and Uttaran'.
At the time of filing this report, Colors spokespersons were not willing to divulge details on the two shows.
Actress Neha Narang who has done shows like Sasural Genda Phool, Shubh Vivah, Phir Subah Hogi has bagged a meaty cameo role in Saurabh Tewari's upcoming show for Colors, Rang Rasiya.
The actress will play a power-packed role, and will be the best buddy of the female lead, essayed by Sanaya Irani.
