hey ,i get notifications on my gmail account whenever anyone else comments on the stories in which i comment...

how can i stop it??

Go to Dashboard- Left hand side-Profile Edit- Preferences-

Notify me of replies to posts,Sends an email when someone replies to a topic you have posted in. This can be changed whenever you make a post :

Mark "No" over there.

Done.

When you post a comment, below the comment box you can see the following:-

Enable Forum Codes to format post Show Signature Email Notify me of Replies

Just uncheck 'Email Notify me of Replies'

I think you will stop getting notifications then :)

All that they had said it's true check them and if you are still getting notifications then the last thing to check is what type of notifications are you receiving, if they are just related to the same threads (which means selected ones), then check your watched topics, maybe unintentionally you have add it to your watched topics list. Once you delete it from there you should not receive them anymore.

For eg. i receive nots just for 3 topics only because i have decided to receive them by adding the threads in my watched topics.
