Afsar Bitiya - Moments to Remember

My Journey --- In my Own Words

It all started off with a dream!

A dream --- a wish --- and it was one my Dad had instilled in me!

To become an Afsar

To reach the heights that no one in my family dreamt of ---for a girl!

So I set out on this journey with a steadfast heart and an indomitable will!

I had to turn my cants into cans, and my dreams into plans.

When fears are grounded, dreams take flight.

Many people were a part of my dream  --- and also an inseparable part of me.

Here are some of them and how they influenced in shaping my life and helped me in accomplishing my dreams!

My Parents

My Dad was a calm yet strong and determined man.

He was a part of my struggle when I started on my journey.

My mother though worried about this extraordinary goal I had set was supportive in her own way though she was more anxious about where this struggle would land me in.

It was her immense love only and nothing else even when she was firm on many occasions with my actions.

When you dream alone, with your eyes shut, asleep, that dream is an illusion. 

But when we dream together, sharing the same dream, awake and with our eyes wide open, then that dream becomes reality.

My teacher, guide and philosopher

A good teacher is like a candle - it consumes itself to light the way for others.

He taught me to dream with my eyes open.

He encouraged me to read for reading can unlock the keys to a whole world of information.

He wasn't a teacher who taught something, but someone who inspired me to give my best in order to discover what I already knew.

My Siblings

 My Brother

Who is a brother?

Your brother is always the first male friend you will have in your life.

Nobody will ever be able to understand your craziness like your brother and although you don't see each other as much as you'd like, he will always remain your friend and be there for you when you need him the most.

While people will come and go in your life, your brother will be in your heart for a lifetime.

My Sisters

Who is a sister?

She is your mirror, shining back at you with a world of possibilities.

She is your witness, who sees you at your worst and best, and loves you anyway.

She is your partner in crime, your midnight companion, someone who knows when you are smiling, even in the dark.

She is your teacher, your defense attorney, your personal press agent, even your shrink.

Some days, she's the reason you wish you were an only child.

My cousin and her family

One single positive dream is, more important than a thousand negative realities.

I thank every person who has ever told me that I can't achieve my dreams, and l allowed them to fuel my motivation until I did!

 

Follow your dreams, even if that includes going through some nightmares.

My Office Staff

I learned the value of hard work by working hard.

I had an excellent team with me supporting me all throughout!

Passion and teamwork can turn a bunch of ordinary folks into an unbeatable, winning team.

When a team outgrows individual performance and learns team confidence, excellence becomes a reality.

Last but not the Least..

My life --- my better half!

 

Though it did not begin with a love at first sight but I saw something in your eyes,

 

A Nobility which could be trusted without fear.

My cousin wanted you in her life --- she dreamt of you as her life partner

But you were not interested.

Why?

Was it because of me?

Was there something in me you liked?

But you could never express yourself to me

Nor could I understand your feelings for me

But only for a while!

You were a pillar of support in staying with me through my trials, offered me courage and support and finally we expressed our feelings too.

Thinking of you keeps me awake.

Dreaming of you keeps me asleep.

Being with you keeps me alive.

But most of all, loving you keeps me happy.

You've been charged in court for stealing my heart.

Trespassing in my dreams and robbing me of my senses.

You've been sentenced to a lifetime with me.

Not because you want them to, but because they were meant to, and that person will change your life forever.
