 ~!!* Merry Christmas *!!~

Joy to the world, the lord is come let Earth receive her king! let every heart prepare him room, and heaven and nature sing, and heaven and nature sing, and heaven and heaven and nature sing.
This is the only version that I have ever really learned so hope you enjoy!
Christmas is both a sacred religious holiday and a worldwide cultural and commercial phenomenon. For two millennial, people around the world have been observing it with traditions and practices that are both religious and secular in nature. Christians celebrate Christmas Day as the anniversary of the birth of Jesus of Nazareth, a spiritual leader whose teachings form the basis of their religion. Popular customs include exchanging gifts, decorating Christmas trees, attending church, sharing meals with family and friends and, of course, waiting for Santa Claus to arrive

Joy to the World , the Lord is come!
Let earth receive her King;
Let every heart prepare Him room,
And Heaven and nature sing,
And Heaven and nature sing,
And Heaven, and Heaven, and nature sing.

Joy to the World, the Savior reigns!
Let men their songs employ;
While fields and floods, rocks, hills and plains
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat, repeat, the sounding joy.

No more let sins and sorrows grow,
Nor thorns infest the ground;
He comes to make His blessings flow
Far as the curse is found,
Far as the curse is found,
Far as, far as, the curse is found.

He rules the world with truth and grace,
And makes the nations prove
The glories of His righteousness,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders, wonders, of His love

History

Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus to the Virgin Mary as a fulfillment of the Old Testament's Messianic prophecy.the birth took place in a stable, surrounded by farm animals. A manger (that is, a feeding trough) is mentioned in Luke 2:7, where it states Mary "wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn" (KJV); and "She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them" (NIV). Shepherds from the fields surrounding Bethlehem were told of the birth by an angel, and were the first to see the child.[ Popular tradition also holds that three kings or wise men (named Melchior, Caspar, and Balthazar) visited the infant Jesus in the manger, though this does not strictly follow the biblical account. The Gospel of Matthew instead describes a visit by an unspecified number of magi, or astrologers, sometime after Jesus was born while the family was living in a house (Matthew 2:11), who brought gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh to the young child Jesus. The visitors were said to be following a mysterious star, commonly known as the Star of Bethlehem, believing it to announce the birth of a king of the Jews.

Santa and his elves are putting the final touches to children's presents as he prepares for his long journey around the globe.

Letters are being opened, the last presents are being packed and Rudolph is limbering up for his annual trip.

But before setting off, Santa gave his annual Christmas message to the children of the world.

This year he asked for tolerance and friendship, saying: "I would ask the young people, which, always the young people are our future, that they should treat everybody equal.

Santa's helpers lend a hand

"They should make friends, they should support one another. If a newcomer has problems they would help each another."

Santa's village and office in Rovaniemi, northern Finland, is a popular tourist resort, with hundreds of thousands visiting every year.

Each year thousands of letters arrive in Santa's post office nearby.

After giving his annual message, Santa sets off with Rudolph

All letters are sorted by country and the resort's Santa takes time to reply to as many as he can.

According to one of the "elves" Christina, the children are asking for toys but also for less material things.

"Toys of course but their wishes are also, they want peace in the world and they want to spend more time with their families," she said.

MERRY CHRISTMAS
