Preetika Rao was born in Manglore and brought up in Mumbai. She has completed all her studies in Mumbai itself. Her father Deepak Rao owns an advertising company in Mumbai. Her mother is a home maker. She is the grand daughter of Guru Dutt. She is the sister of the beautiful actress Amrita Rao.
Career
EARLY MODELLING CAREER: Preetika Rao started her Modeling career when she was in college, in an Advertisement for Cadbury Dairy Milk alongside the Legendary Actor Amitabh Bachchan and there on featured in several prestigious ad campaigns.
PEN POWER: Preeetika also had her own Bollywood column with South Side Movie Magazine in Chennai where she contributed from Mumbai. During her time as a Columnist, Preetika also contributed as a film -journalist to articles in the Deccan Chronicle and the Asian Age Mumbai. She also reviewed movies for a short span for film portals.
FILM DEBUT: Preetika's debut in cinema was in the year 2010 with a Tamil romantic film, Chikku Bukku, with Arya. She was approached for the lead role after director Manikandan spotted her Column Picture in Southside magazine, a role originally conceptualized for Vidya Balan.
STUDY ABROAD: Preetika left for US to further hone her writing skills and study broadcast journalism.
SOUTH FLAVOUR: Preetika not just did Tamil films but she also did Kannada and Telugu films with big banners. She got accolades for all her performances in all her films
