A guy Rahul is clicking photos at night when suddenly a demon design kite spins around him and its wires tie a grip around his neck. He dies after struggling. This was just a nightmare and Rahul wakes up in huff. His friend Somu enters and after figuring out that he got the same nightmare, he utters they must know the secret of the ghost kite.
They both are packing their stuff to go to Sindhugadh to find out the kite's secret. Rahul's girlfriend Priyanka arrives and is disgusted at their adventures related to ghosts. She warns that Rahul will face problems now and leaves. Rahul and Somu on their way discuss about the kite and say that it appears only on full moon night. Rahul narrates the tale to Somu that a man Vishwa used to live there and made kites. When he realized he can live no longer, he transferred his soul in a kite.
They both reach the village where a few villagers including Sangram, Rohini and the priest are amazed to see them. Sangram scolds Rahul for coming again and rejects his lines when Rahul requests them that he wants to stay at Vishwa's house for a night. Rahul and Somu leave and on the way Rahul reveals that he had visited this village a few months ago. Somu is surprised and then Rahul tells him that they will go to Vishwa's house through another route he knows. They both reach and set up the equipments necessary for vibration reading. Rahul is outside with his camera and he notices the kite. Inside, Somu hears his screams and rushes. The villagers gather and see Somu running towards them. He pleads them all to rescue Rahul and suddenly his eyes spot his blood strained hands.
Scene shifts to the court. Prosecutor rubbishes the ghost kite theory and reveals that Rahul's body had poison that entered through the wire Somu must have used to attack him. Somu denies the blames and tells the court that he and Rahul were paranormal investigators, who research on ghosts and all; he didn't encounter a ghost yet. The prosecutor asks him how he can blame the ghost if he didn't see any yet. Somu tells her that he was inside near the equipments and when he rushed out to see Rahul lying down, he went to the villagers but instead of helping, they all caught him.
The prosecutor shows the vibration reading equipment as well as Rahul's camera, both were empty. Somu states that ghosts can't be captured in a camera. KD finally stands and questions what would have been Somu's motive behind this murder, the prosecutor had no answer. Priyanka is called in the witness box and she reveals that Somu and Rahul are school friends while she knows Rahul since college days. She further states that Somu can't kill Rahul, they never fought even. The prosecutor doubts their friendship and questions why Somu didn't take Rahul to the hospital when the car was nearby; he went to the villagers to waste his time instead. Somu reveals that he tried to start the car but some unknown problem occurred then. Prosecutor claims his statements are nonsense but Somu repeats it again and adds that the ghost kite must have done so.
KD asks Somu that did the villagers know they both are going to Vishwa's house. Somu answers they didn't know. KD utters that generally the murderer runs away after killing someone. So Somu would have done the same and then nobody would have doubted him as they didn't know both went to Vishwa's house together. But Somu didn't do so, he himself ran towards the villagers. KD requests the judge to wait till the full moon night and give Somu a chance to prove his points; he adds that murder weapon may be discovered till then. The court is adjourned for 10 days.
In KD's office, Varun tells him that even he has heard about the kite. KD tells him and Srman to go to Vishwa's house.
Rohini tries to call someone hiding but Sangram snatches her phone. He tells her that there's no need to call police and asks her to care for the village's happiness. Rohini tells him that they must do something to which Sangram advises her to forget that a murder happened in this village. He hands over her phone and then leaves.
Sangram talks to the villagers and appoints them to assure that no one enters Vishwa's house. Varun and Srman arrive in disguise and Srman goes to talk to Sangram. Varun signals him and he quickly comes to him after Sangram leaves. Both get in a bull-cart and move towards their destination hiding amidst the hay placed on the cart. The priest notices the moving cart and orders a few men to check it. The men spot nothing but hay and Varun and Srman notice everything hiding nearby. When the men leave, they both get in Vishwa's house and Varun notices something. They both conclude that someone else too came here, other than Rahul and Somu. They both run out after it gets dark.
The priest, Sangram and others decide to guard at night one by one to assure nobody goes in Vishwa's house. They all spot the kite suddenly and run away. At the same time Varun and Srman arrive and run away seeing the kite. KD is thinking something in his office when they both storm in and tell him about the kite. KD asks them if they got any clue. Varun shows him a wire and hair pin. KD spots the hair stuck in the pin and decides to go for a DNA test.
Scene shifts to Priyanka and a man. The man asks her to meet Somu but she tells him that the focus will shift on them then. The man then tells her that a job is undone yet. They both arrive in the court next day.
KD tells the judge that his assistants spotted the kite. He doesn't have any proof though. KD then begins discussing about the murder weapon when the prosecutor interrupts and shows him a report she received. She then utters that she got a similar wire as KD's one and it has the same poison which was found in Rahul's body. Police got the wire in Somu's car. Somu is clueless about it.
KD claims that someone else except Somu was there and shows the hair pin. He then calls Rohini in the witness box. KD reveals that she married Rahul and shows their marriage certificate. He further tells the court that Rahul pretended to love Rohini and married her so that she may help him get in Vishwa's house. Rahul then went away and returned after 6 months. Rohini must have killed him to take revenge. Rohini denies the blames and Sangram supports her saying that she was with him then. KD rubbishes his statement and reveals he's saying so because he loves Rohini. Prosecutor asks KD if he has any proof against Rohini. KD requests for time and the judge grants it.
The priest, Sangram and Rohini enter KD's office with a few more villagers and warn him to stay away from the case as well as Vishwa's house. Srman manages to pluck Rohini's hair for the DNA test before they all leave. Suddenly, the kite enters the office and claims to be Vishwa's soul. He states that now the villagers will face troubles and he will be responsible. Saying so, the kite flies back and KD orders Varun and Srman to trace its way. They both fall short and the kite vanishes. KD wonders who made such an intelligent kite.
Scene shifts to the village where the kite flees with a small boy.
Varun arrives with the DNA reports and tells KD that the hair isn't Rohini's. Sangram calls KD to inform him about the kite's act of kidnapping a small boy and warns him to face the consequences if anything happens to the child.
