Diya Aur Baati Hum Written Update 17th February 2014

Sandhya is telling Suraj over phone how she won by achieving her selected 18th position in race and tells it is because of Suraj's faith and family's wishes that she could achieve it. Bhabho is upset listening 18th position and speaks to Sandhya herself who explains the same thing to Bhabho. Bhabho is not pleased and Chavvi takes the phone. Chavvi tells Sandhya that Suraj has booked the marriage hall and they both congratulate each other for the good news. Sandhya says she is getting late and will talk to them later. Meena asks for sweets for celebrating this win and Suraj agrees. Bhabho is worried how would Sandhya win the best cadet trophy at this pace.
Later, Suraj is working in the shop and waiting for Sandhya's call and then he himself calls her number. Sandhya does not take the call. Roma and Rahul are going for canteen. Roma tells she will call Sandhya too. Rahul asks her not to disturb Sandhya as she would be busy speaking to Suraj and drags Roma to canteen by holding her hands. An academy staff sees them and asks about Sandhya and says he went to her room twice but she did not open the door. Rahul and Roma are worried for Sandhya and go to her room. They call her and then see the door is open and go inside. Sandhya is on the bed having covered up heavily and Roma finds that Sandhya is having very high fever. They take her to the hospital. The doctor tells Rahul and Roma that Sandhya is running high fever and has leg pain due to vigorous cycling and tells Sandhya needs medicines and rest for 2-3 days. The doctor also gives a medical certificate to apply leave for three days.
Suraj is worried as Sandhya did not attend his call or call him back and is worried. Chotu is observing him as Suraj drops the samosas in sweet syrup and the jalebis are also getting burnt. He calls Suraj and tells what he has done and asks whether he is missing Sandhya. Suraj scolds him to get back to his work. Suraj thinks of calling Roma to ask about Sandhya.
Sandhya and Roma are seated in the clinic while Rahul has gone to bring medicines. Roma gets Suraj's call who asks her about Sandhya and she replies him that Sandhya is having fever and they are at the hospital. Suraj is worried and speaks to Sandhya and asks her to take rest. He then speaks to Roma and asks her to take care of Sandhya and he would catch the train and reach there by next day. Roma is overwhelmed with his caring words and tells him he need not come and she would take good care of Sandhya. She praises Suraj's caring nature and how lucky Sandhya is. Rahul who reaches there asks Roma to get sick and see how caring Rahul would be. They then go to meet Agrima Singh to submit leave application.
Agrima Singh and Mr. Roy are speaking. Agrima Singh says this cycle race has changed her opinion on so many cadets like Rahul, Sandhya and another cadet's name. Roy agrees with her and then leaves from there. Rahul, Roma and Sandhya reach there and give the medical certificate and asks leave for Sandhya to take rest. Agrima Singh taunts Sandhya for being so weak and ill after every task. She asks her to gain strength to endure the training and accepts her leave now with a warning not to repeat it again.
Roma, Rahul and Sandhya are returning to their room. They see Mr. Roy coming who also notices Sandhya and asks what happened. Roma says she is running fever and has leg cramps too. Mr. Roy scolds her. He tells that he thought with this win, she would be able to gain confidence and perform better but she is not. He compares her to a vehicle that needs repeated kick starts. Once you kick start, it runs a while and then stops again and so on. Sandhya says she does not understand him. He says he felt during training that she has passion but needed some motivation and self-confidence so he changed her cycle race position from 28 to 18 and pushed her a bit and she also achieved it but again with this illness, she is back to her old position. This is not the only task as each day she will be having a new task and she has to endure all the pains and and move ahead instead of giving excuses of sickness.
Precap: Sandhya is resting. Her mobile alarm rings. She has flashbacks of Mr. Roy's words and gets up and to continue for the training.
