I am finding racism is deeply within the minds of people and a person who is white can anytime believe dark-complexioned person is inferior. Because her husband is dark-complexioned, a woman sets him on fire.

Judging by the number of advertisements that we see in the matrimonials that insist on a "
fair and lovely" bride this case should make men think twice before fixing their priority with a fair complexioned bride and especially when they themselves happen to be dark complexioned .
Its possible that the girl too had a similar preference for the "white skin" but a patriarchal society ignored her wishes and she was forced to marry a dark man who had preferred a fair wife.
Fair enuff ? The irony!
Moral of the story: If men have the right to demand their preferences girls too should be given opportunity to voice their preferences before they decide to take matters into their own hands.
