First of all a Happy New Year to all of you. Finally I am back with my updates sorry for the late update as I was just reading my own work to find out were I have actually stopped.

Part 14

The day went pleasant for her. She was super happy to finally see Yash and Arpita opening up to each other. She joined her friends with a determination to tell everything about her father to Prashant before their engagement and once with her friends she forgot all about what she had just felt sometime back. She was happy and that was enough. Later that evening she went to the Cafe Delight where she was suppose to meet Prashant.

Aarti (S. T.): What is taking him so long to come. First he was saying I am spending all my time with yash and my friends and know when we decided to meet up he himself is late. I think I am the first girl who is waiting for her BF instead of making him wait. Let him come I will teach him the required lesson today.

After approximately 5 minutes.

Aarti (S. T.): What the ... Why has he brought Akash and Ishita along. Who will I tell him about my parents separation specially what my dad did.

Prashant: Hi dear. Were are you lost. I am standing right infront of you.

Aarti: Hi. I was waiting for you only. But I have to talk to you about something very important and alone.

Prashant: Yes dear we can talk first let us sit and order something.

Ishita understood the gravity of situation and did not want to disturb the two of them so she and Akash took a different table saying that they dont want to be a bone in between two lovers and they were here for a coffee and not sit with them to lighten the atmosphere and avoid embarassment. All the four of them ordered coffee and some snaks for themselves but on different tables.

Aarti: I am sorry Prashant I didnt meant it but it was really something important and personal which I did not want to share infront of them.

Prashant: Its ok sweety. Know tell me what is it that is bothering you so much.

Aarti: Actually I wanted to talk to you about my parents. They are know leaving separately as dad was seeing somebody else and he wanted to leave with that girl and then she narrated whatever happened that day when her dad was leaving the house and by end she was all crying badly

Prashant tried to console her and said, "no matters what happens he is always there for her and she should have tell this to him before itself why did she hide it from him for such a long time."

After telling everything ti Prashant, Aarti was really feeling light. And later that night she sat with her guitar in her balcony trying to finish the song she was composing. Her lips curled into a smile thinking about Yash and Arpita and also the time she spend with Prashant that evening. So there is more to love! Arpita's words came back to her-love is the most beautiful emotion in this world. She never realized why and how Aprita's words were getting imprinted on her heart. "Love"-that struck her and she immediately took her notebook and wrote the lyrics that came to her mind and Yash-Arpita seq in college sickroom flashed infront of her eyes. She smiled naughtily. Her lyrics fit those two perfectly. She giggled and plucked the strings of her guitar, setting the rhythm. After a few trials, she got the correct chords. She did a little dance and played it on her instrument from the beginning-

Jahan mein sabhi ke liye

Kisi na kisi ko hai

banaya har kisi ke liye

Yahooo! She shouted. She got it. The lines fit prefectly. She sat with her guitar. Fully satisfied with her own creation and played it all over again. She had a very sweet smile in her face. Thinking about Yash-Arpita, she was awed by the feelings they shared, understanding each other without words and this is what gave her the lyrics. She wanted to make her lyrics more beautiful, like people should feel "love" when they hear it. And for some unknown reasons, she felt her cheeks warm when she came to her favorite line-mujkhko banaya tere jaise he kisi ke liye!!! and her thaught automatically went to the time she spend with Prashant in the evening. And she just loved the whole feel of it..it was soo soothing. She smiled to herself and Arpita's words hit her again-pyaar tho kabhi bhi kahin bhi kisi se bhi ho sakta hai (love can happen anytime any moment with anybody)

She stopped, "hey, why am I thinking all that?"

She hit her head and went to sleep. The week went quickly and the day for the engagement of Aarti and Prashant arrived. She was so happy. Her mom, Arpita, Yash, Raddha Maa and her other friends were with her the entire day and was also ready to welcome Prashant and his family in the evening. It was an emotional day for Aarti.

Aarti (hugging the mom): Mom I will miss you every much. Though it is the engagement day still I am feeling like going away from you.

Yash wiped Aarti's and Shobha's tears and tried to lighten the atmosphere.

Yash: Ladke bhi koi roothe hain shadi ya engagement ke waqt ye to ladkiyon a kaam hai. Lekien mujhe ye nahi samajh mein aaya ki Prashant ne ladka ho ker ek ladke ko kaise pasand  kiya. Kya usse koi ladki nahi mili kya. (do boys cry during their marriage or engagement, this is the work of girls. But I dont understand that didnt Prashant get a girl for himself that he is getting engaged to a boy)

Aarti winced with his teasing and ran to beat him up and all the others cracked up laughing. And in sometime Aarti was called down for the enagaement ceremony. When Aarti came down everybody including Yash was awed by her beauty and Prashant came forward to escort his fianc to the centre of the hall. Puja was done for the good fortune of Aarti and Prashant and since there was some time left for the auspicous time of the engagement. So they decided to pass the time with some songs and dances. When the auspicous time came and Aarti and Prashant were called to exchange the rings.

Somebody from the crowd said, "why is the bride dad missing he should be here in his daughters engagement"

Hearing this comment Aarti's eyes became teary. So Prashant just caught her hand in a soothing way and said, "all the persons for whom the engagement was important is present here and I would request everybody who are present here to enjoy the ceremony rather than talking about those who are not present."

Aarti was very happy with the events going around her and she wanted to spend the first day after their engagement but unfortunately Prashant was busy with his assignment and the completion day was coming near so she decided to go to Pari's place. Pratik and Aman too came there. Yash and Arpita wanted to spend some time together before Arpita leaves so they were not there. They watched movies and had lunch together. Aarti and Aman rolled on the floor laughing at Pari-Pratik world war 3. Aarti was so lost in her own world, that she never realized the pair of eyes looking at her intently lost in her. Aman was slowly but definitely falling for her, her smile, her bubbly carefree nature, she was fun loving, she was understanding, and she could make any situation lighter. He smiled at her cute antics to him, she was an angel, she loved people around her madly. In short, he was just falling for her simplicity and the liveliness in her.

She reached KM later in the evening. The 1st thing she did was to search Yash. Radha Maa was out for some work. Nakul saw her and knew her 1st question will be-where is Yash?

She saw nakul and opened her mouth to ask about Yash when nakul promptly replied, "Aarti baby, chote saab apne kamre mein hain", (aarti baby Yash is in his room) not letting her to speak a word.

She ran upstairs and found Yash standing by the window-quiet and lost. She went and stood behind him quietly, trying to observe his face somewhere understanding his expression that he was upset about something. Yash hadn't realized her presence. He was lost in her own world.

She nudged him, "kya soch raha hain?" (what are you thinking)

He snapped and looked at her, "tu yahan?" (you here)

She immediately bit back, "kyun main yahan kyun nahi aa sakti? Tujhe kya problem hain?" (why cannt I come here? what is your problem?)

Yash (irritated): Ek baat boli nahi ke phat se shuru ho jati hai tu, hain na (just tell one thing and you are all ready. right)

Aarti: Tu agar aise poochega to aisa hi jawab milega na aur (if you ask something like this you will get the answer accordingly na)

And she stopped right there when her eyes fell on his pale face. He looked forlon. She was immediately reminded of the day she had met him the 1st time after his parents death. He was quiet. He never spoke to anyone. He'd sit alone for hours looking into oblivion. He never socialized. He had infact stopped talking to Radha Maa also. It took her almost 1 year to make him speak out heart to her and today she saw that look again. Like there is something he was sad about and wanted to speak out. And just look at her heart playing with her-she understood his feelings right through his face without even realizing. Just sometime back she was awed by the way Yash and Arpita understood each other without words. She held his hand and rested her head on his shoulder and looked out of the window. Yash felt her movements but stood still. They stood like that quietly for sometime. His hand was getting warmed where she had held him. He smiled coming out of his reverie and looked at her. She was looking out. He wondered if she was the same girl who had made his life a living hell in Dubey House just because she wanted him to speak up. He went back to his thoughts when she spoke up breaking the silence, "so, this is what Arpita di's absence does to you, hmm anarkali?"

He immediately looked ta her in shock. Did she just read his mind? She looked at his face and giggled, standing straight in front of him, putting her hands on her waist, "so, what did you think Mr. Yash Sindhiya ke mujhe, the great Aarti Handa ko kuch pata nahi chalega hmm?" (what did you think yash that i will not know)

Yash: Kya keh rahi hai tu? (what are you saying)

Aarti: Oye don't try to act as if you don't understand anything, smajha. Arpita di nahi hai isiliye dilip kumar bana baitha hai! (dont try to act as if i dont understand anything understand. arpita di is not present that is the reason you are sad)

Yash sighed and looked away. He knew he can't hide anything from her. Actually he didn't want to. He can't re-live the torture again. NO WAYS he was going to relive the atyachaar.

Aarti pulled him and made him sit on the bed and herself sat on the floor facing him. She made a cute angry face, "par mein tujhe thodi naraz hun." (but i am not angry with you)

He looked up at her with a big question mark on his face. Aarti could never be mad at him no never. He had never seen a mad Aarti. She was always a gundi and bossed over him. But she never got angry on him, be it any reason. And he knew from heart that Aarti could never ever be mad at him and if she is today means there is something definitely wrong.

Yash: Kya baat hai Aarti? (what happened aarti) Did I do something?

His question was sincere. She made a cute put, "tune apni zindagi ki itni important baat ko share karna sahi nahi samjha? Who bhi apni best friend se." (you didnt think about shareing such an important thing about your life with me)

He realized what she was hinting at.

Yash: Nahi Aarti. Aisa nahi hain. Main batana chahta tha. (no its not like this i wanted to sahre it with you)

Aarti cut him, "kab?? Apni shaadi hone ke baad ya mere marne ke baad?" (when after your marriage or after my death)

He instantly shouted at her, "AARTI..SHUT UP!"

She went silent hearing his voice. His face was red in anger. She wondered why he got angry!

Yash: Tu kabhi bhi kuch bhi bol deti hai iska matlab ye nahi ki jo mann mein aaya wahi bol di aur mein chup rahun. (you say what ever comes to your mouth but it doesnot mean i will listen everything without saying a word)

Aarti had never seen this side of Yash.

Aarti: Arrey baba tu itna naraz kyun ho raha hai? (why are you getting hyper) What did i do?

He got really annoyed for her being so ignorant and held her arms tightly, almost lifting her up, "I can't afford to lose anyone of you anymore, samjhi tu. Not you, not Radha Maa, not mamma, and not even Arpita samjhi. Dare you say something like that again."

His fingers dug into her skin. Almost making it bleed but she felt nothing. She looked at his face with a smile on her lips. She was amazed realizing he is not the same little Yash anymore who used to cry for little things and go to her, who used to hide even though he was correct, who never knew what anger was on the 1st place. But today she saw that anger on his face and the pain in his eyes. She smiled to herself, to him, cursing herself in her heart for making him feel like this. Guess he has changed a lot over the years, she had missed that phase of his life when she was away in shimla. His grip loosened seeing her smile and looked away, frustrated. He had seen his parents die in front of his eyes, and he can't bear another loss now. These people meant the world to him and Aarti's stupid words just opened his wound and pain and fear came out as anger.

She raised up a bit and cupped his face, turning it to face her, "am sorry" she said softly, "mein tujhe chodke kahin nahi jaungi, hum me se koi nahi jayega, MEIN KISI KO JAANE NAHI DUNGI." (we will not leave you and go i will not let anyone go away from you)

He closed his eyes trying to calm himself down. If she said it, she meant it. He relaxed slowly. He didn't even realize that he had hurt her, and even Aarti never realized it too.

Aarti: Yash, sorry na baba, ab to please ye silent movie band kar de. (sorry know stop this silent movie)

Her cute complaints just made him smile. He leaned forward and hugged her tight, calming his scared heart. She hugged him back, gently patting his shoulder. There was something in this hug that made Aarti smile, like she was contended to see him calm and composed. If you think they loved each other, then probably yes, like best friends do, there was no sexual connotation between them. It was pure serene and blissful.

Yash closed his eyes and took a deep breath in.

Yash: Mein aaj ussey milne airport gaya tha. (today i even went to airport to see her of)

She just held him, listening to him. She had promised herself and her mom that she'd be there for him, and she WILL be there, no matter what. He pulled out of the hug looking down.

Aarti looked at him curiously, "tu mila unse? Kuch kaha di ne?" (did you meet her? did she say something)

Yash shook his head, "I couldn't see her go."

She felt something crack within her again. She wondered what was it, but then she didn't feel anything else after that nano second of pain. She ignored and listened to him. Why to care about something that you know nothing about?

Yash: Kaafi security thi. Door se dekha meine usey. (security was high. i have seen her from a distance)

Aarti: Ohh teri, tujhe jaana chahiye tha na, usnke paas. (oh you should have gone and met her na)

Yash: Hmm, jaana tho chahta tha, but I just couldn't. I didn't know ye sahi hota ya nahi. I mean she had seen me looking and was looking at him, like she wanted to tell me something, I just..I just couldn't.

Aarti, being Aarti, hit her head and fell flat on the floor, "dhat! Gayi bhains paani mein! Yash, idiot teri akal kya sahi time pe ghaas charne jaati hain?" she tried to make the situation lighter.

Yash rolled his eyes and lied down beside her on the floor.

Yash: Kya keh rahi hai tu Aarti? Mein kitni uljhan mein tha pata hain, pata hi nahi chala ke kya sochun, kya kahon, kya karun. (what are you saying aarti do you how confused i was)

She waked hard on his shoulder and looked up at the ceiling, "she wanted you to go to her Yash and meet her. Par tu idiot stupid, uss din tho di ki baatein bina kahe samajh gaya, tho aaj kya hua? (but you idiot that day you was able to understand her unsaid words properly then what happened today)

Yash: Yaar uss din ki baat alag thi na. (that day things were different)

Aarti: Yeah right. Isiliye bechari di ne kitni himmat se apne dil ki baat keh di aur tu, aarrghh I hate you for doing this to her. (yeah that is the reason di told you her feeling with so much of determination and you i hat you for doing this)

That had caught Yash's attention. He sat up straight and pulled Aarti so that even she too sat up and stared at her unbelievably. Like Arrti read his expressions.

Aarti: Aise kya dekh raha hain? Sahi tho keh rahi hoon. (what are you seeing i am saying the right thing only) She loves you a lot duffer and she really meant it Maan. She can't stay away from you. That's why she didn't want to go to London.

Yash: Did she tell you that?

She shrugged as a-matter-of-fact, "ab tu tho unse I love you kahega nahi, tho she has only me to pour her heart out. (know you are not going to say her i love you so she only has me to pour her heart out)

Yash was shocked beyond words. They still needed to confesses, that was it. They were very clear about each others' feelings, but saying it was a tough task.

Aarti: Arrey budhu, tell her that you love her. Ek din mein tera ye haal hai I wonder how will I cope up with you all this month. (see your condition in one day who will you cope up with this situation the entire month)

Yash: Tho tujhe saari baat pata thi? Even about me? (so you knew everything)

She smiled cutely, "teri aankhon se jhalakta hai Yash. (it can be seen in your eyes) I know you are the best for her.

Yash has never felt this happy before. And he felt much lighter sharing his feelings with Aarti. He hugged her tight screaming, "Aarti, you are the best you know that. Meri zindagi mein teri jagah koi nahi le sakta. (know body can take your place in my life) You are just the best."

Aarti just smiled and hugged him back tight. Radha Maa had just returned and was going to her room when she heard noises from Yash's room. She knew Aarti was there. She just peeped in to check on her two favorite children through the half opened door and found both of them hugging each other tight. Aarti's face was visible to her, she noticed the glow on her face. She smiled thinking something and walked away.
