Shah Rukh Khan is the lone Indian celebrity to have made it to the top-ten wealthiest actors, beating Tom Cruise and Johnny Depp.
The 48-year-old actor, who is the owner of an IPL team and has acted in more than 50 Bollywood films, has an estimated fortune of $600 million.
He is second on the list put out by Wealth-X, a leading research firm that prospects ultra-high-net-worth individuals.
Comedian Jerry Seinfeld tops the list with a net worth of $820 million. Mr. Cruise is at number three with $480 million, while Mr. Depp and the multifaceted Tyler Perry are fourth and fifth respectively with an estimated $450 million each.
The list includes several Academy Award winners including Jack Nicholson ($400 million), Tom Hanks ($390 million) and actor Clint Eastwood ($370 million).
Mr. Nicholson is at number six followed by Mr. Hanks, comedian Bill Cosby, Mr. Eastwood and actor Adam Sandler.
Wealth-X uses a proprietary business valuation model to assess all asset holdings " including privately and publicly held businesses and investible assets " to develop the net worth valuation.
