Misti,  I think I have seen Utpal Dutt in a serious role too too though now I can only recall his comedies.  Yes, it was Naram Garam.  Just loved Utpal Dutt in that role.

I did not remember Amitabh's character from Mili.  But when I watched it yesterday,  I suddenly got reminded of Shlok.  They also showed the same insecurity and that's where I liked it so much.  In fact, I felt more sympathy for his character than Milli or her father because she was dying.  I thought that it was not fair that he was going to lose Milli too after losing so much in his life.  That's why I wish that they had kept Shlok complex as Shlok and Anjali are the two most complex characters of the show.  They have kept some of complexity of Anjali, but Shlok and Niranjan have become so one-dimensional characters now.

Yeah I started watching with some of these as well, thanks to their endless reruns! Seinfeld, Raymond, Cosby show, the Nanny, Golden girls. And more recently, Gilmore girls. If nothing else, they're quite entertaining! I even watched that's so Raven just because Raven's so talented. I actually Iiked it!

Tina, I did not watch any of these other shows that you stated...only Seinfield, Raymond out your list. So, you like sitcoms? I love Sheldon in Bigbang theory, he is unique ðŸ˜Š

Jia,  I also like some of James Bond series.  Favorite James Bonds are Sean Connery and now I like Daniel Craig.
hmm., Daniel Craig I some how didn't like him as he didn't present me that 'handsome hunk' image that I got used to after watching Pierce Brosnan , Sean Connery. But Daniel Craig James bond movies are good be it Casino Royale or Quantum of Solace. Daniel Craig is more rugged.

I was planning to watch Amazing Spider man  because of its special effects, but I think it is out of theaters now.  So have to wait until it comes on TV or on netflix.
yeah..try it , though this one did not become big hit like the others in the franchise.

I am not much into Godzilla type movies. ok.😊  ..like I said any movie is good for me unless it is horror, I dread the horror kind
I like Superman, batman type movies - super heroes based on comics I used to read as a kid.

Angie, I loved reading comics when I was kid but watched only Batman, Spiderman, Ironman till now. Didn't watch any Super man series till now, I heard Christopher Reeves is very good in them. My all fav. comic hero is Spiderman  though...😊.

ok I typed, talked a lot today, really signing off for the day.😊

Although Masoom was very good but I prefer the book Man Woman and Child to the movie Masoom. The old Golmal is one of my Fav movies...I like it more for Utpal Dutt. Dina Pathak climbing through the kitchen window is one of the most hilarious scenes. 😆

@Rekha and Chithra...Yesterday while returning from work, a lady was sitting next to me on the bus.
She was carrying a single stick of red rose in her hand. That reminded me of our discussion regarding another single red rose and without even realizing what I was doing, apparently started studying the red rose...actually the stalk of the red rose to see whether it has thorns or not. After some time I realized what I was doing and when I looked sheepishly at the lady, I got a glare in return.😳

Ah.. the rose... wonder if they actually intended symbolism or the director just likes roses! 😕

@Myra , @Jia and @Angie BC is Benedict Cumberbatch the actor who plays Sherlock in the new series 😉 ... I lubh him... could keep staring at him for hours 😳

@Tina .. I am kinda crazy about both criminals and law enforcement. For me unwinding would be watching/reading a good crime thriller or run some crime based series in a loop. 😃 Criminal Minds do get graphic and disturbing at times. I used to be Dexter addict and then took a break after I started obsessing over not sticking to a pattern , waking up at the slightest sound. 😕

@Angie I wanted to be a journo as a kid. Wanted to write always. But the Engg craze came along and was forced to study that. Plus I don't find my job interesting either. 😉 I have always loved Sherlock. Read 'Hound of Baskervilles' in sixth grade and was hooked.
These days I too end up liking certain episodes of EBP that too in parts . I for some reason don't find Astha to be really positive , she was always a bit annoying for me. But that made me like the show , where the heroine is pearly white. For me Astha is still annoying but my grouse is the way they show people's reaction to her. How come shebis not pulled up for anything! Surprisingly Astha has more traits in common with Niranjan especially her ability to manipulate the situatioj toher advantage by utilising other's emotions. If I was writing the show , Astha realizing this characteristic or hers or being made to realize would definitely be a prominent track.

@Misti I love Poirot and Miss Marple too. But I have read than watched them, though I did watch a bit of 'Poirot' last year. Hugh Laurie is adorable. I caught the trailer for House for the first time while I was on a call and the TV was on mute, even then I liked him 😉 Dunno if he will make me ditch Bene boy(Benedict Cumberbatch) though!!

@Jia I guess you like being a software engg 😃 I like Sheldon too , isn't is just so cute!!! 😃 😕

Yes Trishna was based on P&P. it was very well executed I felt. I wish it was available to see somewhere, either on internet or on DVD. There were 4 sisters instead of 5, Rupa, Rekha, Ruhi and Rita. Tarun Dhanrajgir played Darcy's equivalent. It was so popular at the time!

Farmaan was a very short series, just 14 episodes in fact (all episodes are available on youtube actually). The male lead was Kanwaljeet. In a very tangential way he reminded me of Shlok. He was a brooding hero, somewhat dark, with a difficult family history. She was a sweet middle class girl and he was a Nawab. The series was perfectly drool-worthy at the time ðŸ˜ƒ. It was based on a book Alampanah. If you have time and feel like it, it might be worth a watch.

I was hooked to that show. Hugh Laurie definitely had the best punchlines in that show. By the way Myra have you heard about PG Woodhouse? He is an English writer and he used to write satires . Basically he used to make fun of the English upper class. He wrote a series of books based on two characters...Bertram Wooster and Jeeves. Wooster is this typical good for nothing empty head young rich guy belonging to the upper class while Jeeves is his valet...completely straight faced witty chap. Wooster in his own bumbling ways used to land himself in difficulties and Jeeves used to rescue him. Anyway these books were made into teleserial called Jeeves and Wooster and they are hilarious. Actually the books are more funny. Wooster was played perfectly by Hugh Laurie and he was perfectly matched by Stephen Fry's Jeeves.  If you like Hugh Laurie then you might like this one too.

Thanks for the information regarding Farmaan. I will check it out.  I don't think Trishna is on You tube. I have been searching for that show, but could not find it.  I remember waiting patiently for it to air and the guy playing Darcy was completely drool worthy. 😳
