2.6 Boult to Gayle , FOUR, he' s off the mark with a
flowing drive, overpitched and just outside off, Gayle
leans forward , gets to the pitch of the ball and creams it
past the diving fielder to deep extra cover

3.3 Southee to K Powell, no run, catch dropped, full and
pushed across him , it straightened after pitching, K
Powell pokes at it and the outside edge carried at a
comfortable height to second slip where Fulton grasses
an easy catch. It's Fulton, who's having a terrible Test. A sitter, at knee-height, at second slip, after Powell pokes and edges a fuller one angled
across him

"It is hard for me to voice
adequately how infuriating it is to have Fulton still in
the side. If you can't buy a run and can't hold your
catches it doesn't matter about your seniority status.
Hopefully Rutherford back in for the next test and if he
fails we will look to Ravel or Bracewell next series.
Ronchi isn't up to opening, and I would hate to 'Watson'
Neesham or Anderson's careers."

New Zealand well on top here. West Indies' openers
survived nine pretty tense overs, and Powell is very
lucky to be batting still after that dropped catch from
Fulton, but they are still 489 runs behind. Superb
innings from Neesham and Watling took New Zealand
past 500, after they lost three wickets in the first session
and looked in danger of frittering away the solid platform
they had laid on Day One. This is still a difficult pitch to
take wickets on, but it's a pretty difficult one to make
runs quickly on as well. Both teams will need to be
patient on the third day.

Stumps day 2: Yet another day which belongs to New
Zealand as they piled the agony on West Indies to put
them under tremendous pressure . After Williamson got to
his ton yesterday , Neesham created a record of sorts by
becoming the 8th batsman to score tons in his first two
Tests . He was ably supported by Watling , who was the
last man to get out on 89 in quest of some quick runs
before the declaration. West Indies' openers negotiated
the tricky 9 overs before stumps , but Powell was
struggling to get going. Tomorrow promises to be an
exciting day as the Gayle force will be in action . Don' t
forget to join us, until then take care .. ..
