40. 2 Southee to Gayle , out Caught by Watling !! Huge
wicket for New Zealand after Lunch. No hundred for
Gayle in his 100 th Test . He goes to an ovation from the
crowd. Southee troubled Gayle throughout the first
session and he has got the reward for being patient .
Keeps it on a length and in the area of uncertainity ,
Gayle pokes at it gingerly and the ball grazes the edge
and settles into Watling ' s gloves. Gayle c Watling b

40. 4 Southee to Samuels, out Lbw !! Two in the over !
West Indies are falling apart here . Samuels had a chat
with Chanders whether to review it , the senior partner
thinks it was out and they don ' t use the review . A good
length delivery that nips back in sharply , Samuels stays
rooted to the crease and is struck on the knee roll, that
looked dead and even umpire Illingworth thought so .
There was some reverse swing on that occasion .

62.4 Southee to Ramdin, OUT, got him, and the slower ball
has done the trick! It was down the leg side, and he
tried to flick it into the leg side but edged it onto his hip
and it ballooned up to Watling behind the stumps. And
with that wicket, it's tea.

That's a blow to the solar plexus for West Indies.
Chanderpaul and Ramdin had put on 72 after that
double-strike that took out Gayle and Samuels, and it
was Southee himself who came back and created that
wicket out of nowhere. Bit of luck, you could say, but he
made that luck himself.

Tea : New Zealand have taken firm control of the match.
They started the session with a bang as they got rid of
the well set Gayle , Samuels followed suit in the same
over . Chanders and Ramdin had stitched a nice little
partnership of 72 runs and just when things were
looking good Southee struck again to send the West
Indies captain back to the pavillion . With still 132 runs
to avoid the follow- on , the hosts have a daunting task
ahead of them. Will Chanderpaul be able to take them
past 308 ? Or will the Kiwis roll them over ? All the
answers coming up shortly in the final session ...
