Thunder Storms And Instant Noodles.
The sound of the loud thunder caused Sharon to jump up in horror. She's always hated thunderstorms: the fear of thunder hitting you and electrifying your body; or worse the fear of hitting whole surroundings and it will come down in ashes; the fear of the sound of thunder, it sent jolts through her nerves. She loved the pouring rain and when the cool breeze piercing on her skin. If it didn't have thunders or lightings, she'd be just fine. But this was not the case.
She grabbed her phone and quickly pressed for her boyfriend's number.
It rang five times, before his sleepy voice greeted her.
"Swayam?" she questioned.
He yawned at the other end and simply said, "I know, don't worry, I'm on my way."
"Thank you" she smiled, slightly gushing on to how much he already knew her.
-A few minutes later-
Sharon stayed in her dark living room, hiding in the comforts of her blanket, waiting for Swayam, praying he'd come faster.
She finally heard a knock on her door and sprang towards it. She opened the door to greet the only one who could make her feel safe at the moment.
Swayam was covered with wet spots all over his dark blue sweatshirt. As if that wasn't amusing enough, his eyes were sleepy, but his mouth was smiling like a dork.
"Swayam!" she screeched, overjoyed and wrapped her arms around him, feeling safer already.
He stepped inside and closed the door. He kissed her forehead and headed towards the kitchen. He started to scramble for some stuff in the cabinets as Sharon just looked at him, confused.
"What are you doing?" She asked him.
"I'm starving." He pouted. Sharon smiled goofily and went to him. She softly pushed him aside and bent to take out two yellow packets of instant noodles branded Maggie.
She went to the stove and lit it, while he watched her amused. Yes, nothing was more amusing than watching Sharon Rai Prakash working in the kitchen. He came out of his trance when she turned around and gave him a questioning look. He moved closer to
Her and placed his hands on her waist, almost hugging her. Sharon nuzzled herself closer to Swayam, wanting his body heat to spread to her, feeling cold from the weather.
A loud grumble from the sky made Sharon jump and hide her face in Swayam's chest. He smiled and wrapped his arms around her body tighter. He kissed her head and cooed in her ear.
"Shh, it's okay. I'm here."
She tightened her grip around Swayam's neck. They stood there, in each other's embrace, for a few long seconds. He et her go for the time being, when he saw the water and the contents mixed with it, boiling. He turned off the stove whereas she stepped forward to take out some bowls.
They headed to her room and settled on her bed with a tray of noodles right before them. Swayam sat on the bed, his back resting on the bed rest and legs stretched out. Sharon made space for herself right between his legs and placed herself comfortably in his embrace as he re-wrapped an arm around her petite waist.
She looked up and offered a fork-full of food to him. To which he gladly opened his mouth. She smiled and took filled the fork again and placed it in her mouth.
"Mmm" she sighed, savoring the taste of a comfortable night with the man she loved.
Swayam started to laugh. And a "what?" Escaped her mouth, involuntarily.
He took out a tissue from the tissue box kept on her side table and dabbed it on the corners of her mouth.
"There you go." He said.
She smiled again. She leaned up and gave him a quick peck on his lips.
"Mmm" Swayam chuckled. "Instant Noodles taste better like this." He said and her cheeks blushed different shades of crimson.
Another thunder clang was heard, and Sharon gripped onto Swayam again.
"Oh!" Swayam groaned.
But the thunder storms became more frequent. She stayed locked in Swayam's arms, finding safety and comfort in his presence.
"It's okay" he whispered, "You're safe and sound with me."
"I know." She muffled through his shirt.
