CHAPTER 1:

 

Voice: Kya bat hai Sakshi? Tu itni has kiyu rahi hai?

It was Sameer. And Sakshi means she was Sameer's friend. Crap!!!! He fell on the earth from the sky with a thud.

Sakshi: Kuch nehi. Bas aise hi.

Sameer came into view with a luggage in hand.

Sameer: Kya bat hai? Abe hatna!! Andar to ane de.

Arjun stepped aside and allowed them to get in.

Sameer: Woh Arjun tune Sakshi ke lye koi kamra ready kya?

Arjun: Haan. Mere kamre ke sath wale kamra maine saaf kar dya hai.

Sameer took the bag in that room. Sakshi and Arjun also went with him.

It was a well furnished room with a big bed in middle. Fresh bed cover was on it. Beside the bed stood a table. A dressing table and a study table were also there. South faced window. Fresh curtain was on it. Sakshi liked the room very much.

Sameer: Hmm. Kamra bohot accha hai. Sakshi tujhe yaha koi problem nehi hogi. Aab main chalta hoom.

Sakshi: Itni jaldi?

Sameer went to her and patted her shoulder.                      

Sameer: Mujhe kuch jarori kam hai. Tu phikar mat kar. Tu Arjun ke sath safe hai. Woh apna jan de dega par tujhe kuch nehi hone dega. Trust me.

Arjun's chest swelled 64" hearing the praise.

Sakshi just nodded meekly.

Sameer bid bye and promised to come soon. Arjun closed the door and went back to her room. Sakshi was standing there with lower head. She was fumbling her fingers with her pallu.

Arjun: Aap change karke fresh ho jye. Main living room mein hoom. Kuch chahye to awaj de dijyega.

Sakshi just nodded.

Arjun ran his hand through his hair. He was about to go when Sakshi called him from behind.

Sakshi: Arjun ji.

Arjun turned around.

Arjun: Please don't call me ji and aap. Call me Arjun.

Sakshi: Arjun.

Arjun smiled.

Arjun: That's right.

Sakshi: Main aapko I mean tumhe thanks kehna chahti thi. Tumne mujhe musibat ke waqt pe shelter dya. Main tumhara yeh ehsan..

He couldn't finish her sentence. Because by then Arjun came closer to her and stopped her by placing his palm over her mouth. Sakshi kept staring at his black orb like eyes. After what felt like whole eternity he removed his palm from her mouth.

Arjun: Please thanks mat bolo. Tumne jo kya woh aur kisine karneki socha tak nehi. Tumne iss desh ke ek bohot badi criminal ke khilaf awaj uthai hai. Isske lye bohot himmat ki jarorat hoti hai. I salute you and your bravery. Trust me. Tum Sam ke dost ho to meri bhi dost ho. Yaha tum apna ghar samajhke rahoge. Aab samjhe ya samjhavuum?

Sakshi smiled.

Sakshi: Samajh gyi.

Arjun nodded.

Arjun: Okay then. Tum fresh hoke aa jao. Main bahar wait karta hoom.

Sakshi smiled a shy smile and nodded.

Arjun went out and sat on the sofa. He ran a hand through his hair. A small smile crept in his face as he recalled their close proximity.

Sakshi's state was no better. She stood under the shower recalling their close proximity. A beautiful crept in her face. After taking bath she came out wearing a sky blue kurti with white patiala payjama and white dupatta.

Arjun was watching TV when he smelled a heart touching smell. He turned around and saw Sakshi standing near the door.

Arjun: Arrey Sakshi tum waha kiyu khadi ho? Yaha aao na!!

Sakshi came in and sat with him.

Sakshi: Sam tumhare bade mein bohot kehta hai.

Arjun: Bohot burai karta hoga.

Sakshi: Aab bure kaam karoge to buraihi karegana!!

Arjun looked at her surprised. Her eyes were twinkling with mischievousness.

Both started laughing together. After sometime Arjun stopped his laugh and kept looking at her. Sakshi noticed his gaze and blushed.

Sakshi: Aise kya dekh rahe ho?

Arjun: Tum hasti hui aur bhi khubsurat lagti ho.

Sakshi blushed and lowered her gaze. Sensing her shyness Arjun came out of trance.

 Arjun: Tumhe bhook nehi lagi?

Sakshi: Ha. Subah ke bad kuch nehi khaya aur aab rat ho gya hai.

Arjun: Kya! Samne tumhe bech mein kuch nehi khilaya?

Sakshi: Usska koi galti nehi tha. Hame itni jaldbaji mein bhagna pada ki time hi nehi mila.

Arjun: Thik hai. Chalye. Haam dekhte hai. Aapke lye kuch special banate hai.

Sakshi: Special? Pad Samne to kaha tha ki tumhe ande ubalna aur chai bananeke sivah aur kuch bhi nehi ata.

Arjun: Ata hai na!! Noodles ubalna.

Laughter was itching to come out Sakshi kept it on check. She successfully held her poker face.

Sakshi: To apka special food kya hai?

Arjun: Simple. Uble hue pani mein noodles aur masala ke sath sath ande bhi chod dunga.

Again laughter threatened to come out. But she successfully checked it again.

Sakshi: Ek kam karte hai. Aaj tum mere hat ka special khana kha lo.

Arjun became very happy.

Arjun: Sach!! Tum mere lye khana banaoge? Kya banaoge?

He practically started jumping in his seat.

Sakshi laughed out loud.

Sakshi: Biriyani kaisa rahega?

Arjun: Wow my favorite.

Sakshi: Pata hai. Sam ne kaha tha ekbar.

Arjun smiled a naughty smile.

Arjun: To aap mere lye khas mera pasandida khana bana rahe hai?

Sakshi blushed and lowered her eyes. True she wanted to make it especially for him. She couldn't bear his intense gaze anymore.

Sakshi got up from there and went to the kitchen. Arjun was about to go behind her when his phone buzzed. It was his mother again. He picked up the call.

Arjun: Ha mom.

Mrs. Rawte: Sam aur Sakshi aa gye?

Arjun: Ha mom. Ek ghanta pehle poucha hai.

Mrs. Rawte: Thank God. Sam kaha hai? Aur Sakshi kya kar rahi hai?

Arjun: Mom Sam chala gya. Usse kuch jarori kaam tha. Sakshi kitchen mein hai. Mere lye biryani bana rahi hai.

Mrs. Rawte: Huh!! Ate hi kitchen mein bhej dya bechari ko?Aur kya kaha? Tere lye biryani bana rahi hai?

Arjun: Ohh mom please. Aap kuch ulta seedha mat soch lena.

Mrs. Rawte: Abhitak to kuch bhi nehi socha tha. Par aab agar tu keh raha hai to sochna start kar deti hoom.

Arjun: Don't even think about it.

Mrs. Rawte: Accha yeh bata usski ankhoki color kya hai?

Arjun: Brown. Chocolate brown.

Mrs. Rawte: Are wah. Aye hue do ghante bhi nehi hue tune usski ankhope Phd kar dala?

Arjun: Aapse bat karna hi bekar hai.

Mrs. Rawte: Ha ha. Aabto kahega hi. Chori jo pakda gya.

Arjun was about to answer when Sakshi came there. She tied her dupatta around her waist. Hair was tied up in a messy bun.

Sakshi: Arjun tumne garam masala kaha rakha hai?

Mrs. Rawte: Kitni mithi awaj hai. Sakshi ki hai?

Arjun: Haan. Woh garam masala freeze pe rakha hai. Chiller pe.

Sakshi nodded and went away but not before shooting him a weird look. He wondered what went wrong.

Mrs. Rawte: Garam masala koi chiller pe rakhta hai kya?

Arjun scratched his head.

Arjun: Woh mujhe laga ki usse bhi freeze pe hi rakhta hai.

Mrs. Rawte: Koi bat nehi. Sakshi aa gyi hai na! Tujhe sab sikha degi. Accha aab main phone rakhta hoom. Tu ja usske paas. Usski madad karde.

Arjun: Okay mom. Bye.

Mrs. Rawte: Bye beta.

Arjun huffed and went to the kitchen. Sakshi already parboiled the rice. In another pot she started cooking chicken.

Arjun: Main kuch kar doom?

Sakshi: Nehi nehi. Main kar lungi. Tum kiyu takleef karoge?

Arjun: Please. Tum yeh sab akel kar rahi ho. Main bhi kar deta hoom.

Sakshi gave him some vegetable to chop. He stood there for some time. Not understanding what to do.

Sakshi: Tumhe chop karna nehi ata?

Arjun: Tum sikha do.

Sakshi came beside him and out her hands above her. She slowly moved his hands and taught how to chop properly. Arjun learnt very quickly but he wanted her to stay close to him. So, he feigned that he didn't understand. She looked at his eyes for sometime but smiling again held his hand. She almost chopped all the vegetables like that. Then she got busy with other works.

Arjun was about to wash his hands when she spoke up.

Sakshi: Waise Arjun ek baat kahoom? Tumhe jhoot bolna nehi ata. Mujhe pata hai tumne vegetables mujhse kiyu chop karwaya.
