Akshay to judge dance reality show 'Dare To Dance'

After making a mark in Bollywood, Akshay Kumar ventured into television as a host with 'Masterchef India' and later was also a part of 'Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi' and now the actor is all set to turn judge for a dance reality show called 'Dare To Dance'.

This is not the first time that a Bollywood celebrity will be judging a reality show since Madhuri Dixit and Karan Johar have been judging Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa while Hrithik too was seen as judge in a dance reality show and so was Shilpa Shetty. However, this time around, we hear that Dare To Dance will not only showcase the dancing skills but the contestants will also be required to do some stunts as a part of the show.

Talking of contestants, 'Nach Baliye 6' winner Rithwik Dhanjani and Dance India Dance contestant and lead of the series Dil Dosti Dance, Kunwar Amar will be a part of the show. According to the show's format, it will have about 12-13 celebrities participating in it. Also unlike other dance shows that are shot in India, this one will be shot in South Africa.

Prior to this, apparently Shahid Kapoor was asked to judge the show but the actor who is busy with the promotions and last minute preparations for Haider denied the offer stating that it is too early for him to judge dance contestants on a reality show, after which, Akshay Kumar was approached to be a part of it.

It is being said that Akshay Kumar is already preparing for this six week shoot schedule that will commence on August 9. 'Dare To Dance' will go on air on Life Ok.

Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor, who is known for his dancing skills, has reportedly been approached for a reality show. Quoting sources, a Bollywoodlife.com report says that Shahid was approached for dance-cum-stunt show Dare To Dance. However, he has turned it down as he feels he does not want to make his TV debut at this stage of his career.

The report adds that Akshay Kumar will now judge the show that will feature Rithvik Dhanjani, Kunwar Amar and winners from the last two seasons of Dance India Dance.

The show will be shot in South Africa and will see some very good performances by the contestants

Well Shahid's loss is Akshay's gain. What say?
