RaYa
...A journey from Samjhaute ki Shaadi to Sachha Pyaar!!

Sometime in May 2011, TV audiences switched on their TVs to view a spectacle they had never been treated to earlier. The Promos of a show called Bade Acche Lagte hai- It was said to be a mature love story between 2 strangers who had crossed the line of marriageable age & were contented to live for their family's happiness than their own

And what a treat that was - We loved the refreshing concept & slowly but steadily fell in love with RaYa/RaShi too..

Ram Kapoor, our golu, handsome & ruthless business tycoon, and needing only his charm to speak volumes, changed in our eyes. Or we changed - seeing him in ourselves, our dreams in his dreaming eyes of being loved by his step family, and his tears flowing through our eyes.

Priya Kapoor, Our Sherni, mature, levelheaded
& daintily beautiful, needing only her eyes to speak volumes....

We started idolizing Ram and Priya (RaYa) as the perfect reel couple. Their scenes together became the highlight of our day (or night - depending on where you were in the world). We watched the sparks they struck off each other. Never before had we seen such chemistry on the small screen.

And then the news segments began. We all watched as Ram and Sakshi (our RaShi) bantered, and laughed, and giggled. Their chemistry off screen flamed even brighter than on screen. They enraptured us. They claimed us. They lured us into their world.

Ram Kapoor+Sakshi Tanwar=RaShi❤️

Ram Kapoor+Priya Kapoor=RaYa❤️❤️

The perfect name for the perfect pair.

Our lives changed yet again. We waited eagerly for these off screen glimpses. We saw the camaraderie. We saw the friendship. We saw their bonding.

RaYa grew hotter on screen; we feared for our TV sets. We imagined it cracking down the middle when the much-awaited RaYa Suhaag Raat arrived. We waited with bated breaths, seeing the sizzling chemistry between RaYa.

And yes, no matter what anyone says, it was RaShi working their perfect magic, breathing life into RaYa. Whether it was because of their friendship, their freedom with each other, their happy naughtiness, or something else, is a matter of conjecture (or not, depending on your own perspective).

We saw the prelude of the Suhaag Raat, imagined the confession, and drooled over the to-be fireworks for a period of 2 weeks.

we were in RaYa bliss for as long as 3 years...& then it all ended on the 10th of July 2014

We mourned, and still are 😭 Amazing that was. How did we get so attached to a TV couple who doesn't even know us? People mocked us, laughed at us, and hounded us. But, to no avail. We were in pain (and still are, in many respects).

That is the magic of RaYa.

Beyond reason, beyond logic, and beyond comparisons.

And now, when we are saner, we decided to keep our RaYa alive. Because they are what made BALH so entertaining for us. And because they are not bounded by any one show. We live in hope that we will see them together on screen again. And we keep our fondest memories alive through this Fan Club.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

" The Chemistry between Ram & Sakshi is no act, its an expression of their friendship & the respect they have for each other "

Ram Kapoor

Biography:

Ram Kapoor
born on 1 September 1973 is an actor noted particularly for his portrayal of Jai Walia on the Zee TV serial, Kasamh Se. He is the only actor to win the Indian Telly Awards for best actor consecutively 😃😃  (in 2006, 2007 and 2008).

Though Kapoor has received recognition and acclaim for his work in television, he is generally perceived as someone who shows an attitude and exhibits tantrums on shooting sets. He has acted in five Hindi movies in supporting cast roles.

Ram  grew up in Mumbai, India, where his family moved soon after his birth.

After spending his elementary school years in Mumbai, where he attended Campion School, Mumbai, a respected private school, Kapoor spent his formative years at Sherwood College, a well known boarding school in Nainital, where he excelled in sports and was part of the swimming, volley ball and tennis teams. It was at Sherwood College that Kapoor not only metamorphosed into the prankster that he is today, but was introduced to acting quite by accident, when as a challenge and an order from his head captain, Tarun Deo he auditioned for the annual school theatrical production of Charley's Aunt and performed the lead role. It was under the direction and tutelage of Amir Raza Hussein that Kapoor found his career path when he realized he loved acting.[3] Kapoor attended Kodaikanal International School for two years after class ten.

Following his graduation from school and being armed with the knowledge that he loved acting, Kapoor decided to join the entertainment industry and left for Los Angeles, USA with the intention of joining UCLA to study film making. But it was his love for acting that compelled him to join the Stanislavski Method Acting Academy in Los Angeles, USA, from where Kapoor was one of the approximate twelve students out of the class of twenty eight who successfully graduated. Kapoor's mother was his biggest support, but his father doubted his commitment; he wanted Kapoor to follow in his footsteps and join the corporate world. To prove to his father he was committed to acting, Kapoor attended the Stanislovsky School of Method Acting for six months before he informed his parents that he was attending acting school and not UCLA. To support himself Kapoor did odd jobs which included selling cars, credit cards, cable subscriptions and working at Starbucks. After graduating from the acting academy, Kapoor returned home to India.

Personal life

After being tagged as a Casanova and playboy, Kapoor met his co-star from Ghar Ek Mandir, Gautami Gadgil.😃😃 😃 After becoming best friends the couple dated and married on 14 February 2003

Ram-Priya

Ram Kapoor & Sakshi Tanwar played the role of Ram & Priya with grace & aplomb. Their chemistry rocked our screens, such was their acting. We laughed with them, wept with them & celebrated with them. Their soul touching & intense emotional scenes had us craving for more..., their nok-jhok had us in splits & their mature decisions made us admire them.

There were many among us who were skeptical about the success of a show where both the leads were closer to their real age being popular with the younger generation, but RaYa had those skeptics eating their words when they wooed the younger generation with some phenomenal acting.

RaYa you will always remain our best onscreen jodi forever...

Love you loads...

Miss you even more...
