She is an epitome of versatility and a model human being, living a very simple life despite her recognition after she stepped into the 17 year old record breaking crime show in India - CID. No sooner did she make her debut than she amassed a massive number of fans, only next to the show's Famous Five! Debuted in the episode Kissa Pagal Aashiq Ka as Officer Purvi, she went on to capture many hearts with her flawless performances, extraordinary dialogue deliveries and confident stride. This Appreciation Thread is meant for all the fans of Ansha Sayed/Inspector Purvi.

Ansha Sayed, began her journey in CID as an officer named Purvi, in the episode Kissa Pagal Aashiq Ka where she helped her seniors in thwarting a gang of criminals. Thus began the Purvian era in CID! Post a short break for completing her role as Leelavathi in Laagi Tujhse Lagaan, another show she was part of before storming into the CID family, she came back to the sets of CID in the episode Aankhein. No sooner had this happened than the character of Purvi became most spoken about in the CID fan community, only next to the Famous Five. Purvi's past life was brought to light in the episode CID Mein Gaddar - a stark early example to prove the versatility of the young actress. Soon, in the episode, CID Ki Kidnapping, Purvi once again proved herself of applause when she attempted to jump off the cliff to save her seniors - her family.

The above instances are just an infinitesimal percentage of her role. To add to it, she is not only a strong tough cop but also a soft-hearted human being which was so much highlighted in the episode Kissa Daya Aur Lapata Bachha Ka when she played with the young kid in the bureau. Another facet of hers revealed itself to us soon, in the recent episode Diamond Robbery where she single-handedly clung on to a rope to save her asphyxiating senior, Senior Inspector Abhijeet.

Purvi is also a symbol of women power in CID which was brought under limelight, in the episode Box Mein Hatya where she burns with fury and rage on seeing a young girl being constantly disturbed by two perverts.

Inspector PURVI! One of the best ever characters on Indian television and definitely the best female character, all of which is down to the unparalleled drive, dedication and determination of a Girl, who we are proud and blessed to be a fan of. She has amazed us all with your outstanding performances, with her regal opulence and infectious effervescence. Here is a small, insignificant attempt at a tribute to her memorable disguise scenes in CID.

As we know, it all started with Kissa Pagal Aashiq Ka, 30th July, 2011. The first memorable disguise scene came in episode no. 808, Khooni Keel. She donned the disguise of a toy-seller and she pulled it off with such style and panache, Of course, the wonderful scene at the end, where she approached the criminals with a broom, while shielding the innocent young kid and his mother, was another representation of the women power that Purvi represents. Then, we come to episode 831, Operation Theatre Ke Khooni Ka Raaz. A small little disguise but a vital one, as she pretended to be a patient at the hospital, and caught the killer red-handed. Insignificant though it may be to some. Next up, let us float over to her next memorable disguise. Episode 871, Rahasya Bachchi Ka. She donned the disguise of a Marathi fish seller, a machchi waali, and absolutely looked heavenly in it. Then, of course, her expressions were top notch again. Her pronounced irritation, where she first said the fish would cost him 2000 and then ultimately, thrust the fish in his hand for free, was so cute yet represented the wonderfully talented actress that she is. Next up, only 2 episodes later, we had Heroine Ko Khatra, which was a traditional film promotion episode, where Kareena Kapoor had come to promote her new film, "Heroine". This time, she and Sachin sir, donned the disguise of two foreign drug addicts, and this time, she sported a different look. After the initial foray, into the drug peddler's den, she and Sachin sir went into a pub, so that she could catch the culprit red handed. It showed that Purvi was willing to do everything for her team. After this terrific performance, it was only 5 episodes later, in episode 878, Room No 303, where we got to see another disguise from her. She went into the hotel, which was the scene of the crimes, disguised as an NGO-worker and once again, It was just another example of the fact that she can carry off each and every dress, whether traditional or modern. Let us now come to episode 897, Khooni Kitaab Ka Rahasya! She was disguised as a normal girl, who had joined a library, with the mission to unearth the real criminal behind a couple of murders that had happened there.

Let us now fast forward all the way to episode 988, Maut Ka Telephone: Part 2. This was her most powerful and socially relevant disguise of all. She was a female-rights activist, campaigning for the safety of the girl child, in a country where sins like female foeticide is still widespread. It was once again, our powerful lady Diana, spreading awareness, spreading a message amongst the society, planting the seeds of rational and logical thought in the minds of the society. We could see her, our Didi, fighting for the females of this country. After this wonderful disguise, we had episodic series, The Mouse-Trap, (episodes 1000 and 1001) where she wowed us once again, with 2 phenomenal disguises! It was CID's 1000th episode, a 2 episode series . First of, there was another machchi-waali disguise, this time, to gain more information about a suspect, where she had a hidden camera, fixed to her attire. The way she emoted, the way she delivered her dialogues, were just so natural and effortless. But immediately in the next episode, in the second part of this 2 episode series, she donned this hitherto unseen disguise of a male. She was disguised as this male tapori guy. Her ext disguise was, fortunately for us, in the very next episode! Another 2 episode series, named Forensic Rahasya, where she role-played as an ordinary, vulnerable woman, who had gone to a shady little clinic, where all sorts of illegal and criminal activities were going on. Her slight hesitation, in that disguise, the slight fearful quivering, the fear of injections, all of it were just so wonderfully cute and divine. It was episode 1009, Satara Mein Khoon - II, where we witnessed an ethereal dance performance from an ethereal human being. Another stunning display of women power, wherein the perverted criminal tried to grab her arm forcefully, mid dance, and she retaliated, showing strength and courage to resist his advances, grab his arm and ultimately give him the beating of his life. She was absolutely fantastic in the dance. It was one of her highest moments in CID. Her next memorable disguise was another example of her bravery and courage, as a person. It was episode 1039, Ahmedabad Mein Daya Faraar - II. She was disguised as a pretty begum, and together with Abhijeet Sir, she performed an extraordinary shooting sequence, in a boat, while it sailed through what was very visibly, some turbulent waters. It was an indicator of the risks and sacrifices , that she are prepared to make for her beloved CID. No one else would have had the courage, to go into a speeding boat, moving through turbulent waters, and perform such a daring shooting sequence.

Her last wonderful disguise scene, at the time of writing this, has been episode 1058, Mumbai Ke Chawl Ka Rahasya. It was a short, yet incredibly sweet performance, which mirrored the one she was in real life. She was disguised as a submissive wife, Purvi was shown to be captured by a bunch of goons, and taken to a secret hide-out. But as an innocent, timid wife who had suddenly gained freedom from the clutches of her tyrannical husband, her expressions in that sequence were unbelievably cute. Her sudden tears, then the immediate change to a sweet, hearty, innocent laugh, left us all open-mouthed at the talent she possesses. Then, of course, how can we forget her magnificent expression change at the very end, where she once again became the tough cop. With a determined expression and some wonderfully delivered threatening dialogues, she got the goons to speak up about their boss. The next scene comes from the episode Life Mein Anhoni, 1st February,2014, where she gets shot in the arm, still continues in pursuit of the criminal. Another breathtaking disguise was from the episode Naari Suraksha - 8th March, 2014 the role of a common girl in order to catch red-handed the culprits behind the mysterious disappearances of working women in the city of Mumbai. The next ones were in the series of Giraftaar wherein she played the role of a bar dancer in part 2 and the role of a dancer in part 6 along with her fellow colleagues, Shreya and Tarika (12th April and 20th April, 2014 respectively). The last one (as of July 10, 2014) was the disguise as an ordinary girl named Sakshi, to unravel the mystery behind people going into their past life in the episode (Jadoo Punar Janam Ka - 15th June, 2014).

It was 30th July, 2011. That hallowed day, when all the CIDians, the die-hard fans of this wonderfully conceived and executed Brainchild of Mr. B.P Singh, were blessed with the presence of, simply put, one of God's finest creations. She was disguised as a night-club goer, with the real intention of nabbing a gang of drug-peddlers red handed. It was a sure sign, a prevision of what was to come. Even in the company of the legendary Mr. Aditya Srivastava i.e Senior Inspector Abhijeet, Inspector Purvi shone bright. Not only was she spot on with her expressions but also, the brave fight sequence showed what Purvi had the potential to achieve. She has consistently wowed us over the next 3 or so years, with her dazzling displays, interspersed with the most daring of stunts, which have only served to highlight her dedication to her art and her courage. Purvi channels the bravery, the fearlessness, the sheer willpower and determination and also the compassion, the kindness and the genuine honesty that she exudes in real life.

The plaudits came thick and fast after her wonderful entry. We had Ravan Dehan, where there was the daring stunt with Daya sir, which was the first indicator of your courage and dedication. Then of course, there was the Purvi centric episode, CID Mein Gaddar, which was the clearest indicator yet of the talent that she been blessed with, Didi. It showed Purvi's backstory, her rather dysfunctional family with an ailing father, suffering from Alzheimer's, and a treacherous woman, who was undeserving of Purvi's trust. The emotional detail, the depth of Purvi's feelings in the episode, down to her father being in the eye of the storm, made a large majority of the audience emotional and it was exceptional acting on your part which made it possible. Then of course, we had Target 15th August, where we got to see Inspector Purvi take charge of the situation. It was only a small portion of the episode but her performance in the car, as Purvi attempted to delve deeper into the case and protect her country, was absolutely exceptional. The subtle voice changes in the car as she oscillated between Anuradha and Pallavi, was a treat to behold and the way she deduced the location of the criminal was indicative of a professional, strong, brave and intelligent cop, dedicated to her duty. The bravery that she then showed to barge into the coffee shop, all by herself, was also commendable indeed and once again. After Target 15th August, we of course had CID Ki Kidnapping, another sparkling display of courage, loyalty and bravery from Inspector Purvi. The way she fearlessly made her way into the belly of the beast, in an attempt to save her beloved team and then, Purvi's willingness to sacrifice her own life for her team, was amazing indeed. The climax of the episode, where Purvi, with the bomb attached to her body, attempted to run away from her team so as to save their lives, whilst not caring in the least for her own life, showed the concern and the bond that she had conjured up with the team in a short while. The stunt that followed was frightening for her, as she herself revealed since she were hanging by a harness with the two legends, Abhijeet and Daya sir, holding her hands but once again, the two words stood out: dedication and bravery. In the midst of all that, we had Sammohan Se Hatya, which deserves a special mention for another daring stunt by Purvi, where she hung out of a moving car, to stop the criminal's car in its tracks. It was again a testament to her bravery and dedication to CID.

As Purvi slowly cemented herself as one of the leading cops in CID and definitely the best lady cop of all time, we were treated to another visual delight in Maut Ka Telephone. Wow, what a phenomenal performance again by you again, Didi. Her disguise as an activist for female rights, must have rung a few bells in the audience's minds. It was a performance that showed she at your powerful best, her standing up for the girl-child in a country where female foeticide still prevails in some parts. This display of Purvi championing the cause of women, the power of women in this country, was once again on show in Box Mein Hatya, where Purvi took on a smart little side mission of her own, to liberate a young girl of the troubles she was facing due to a malicious bunch of people, considered decent to the society but with demonic intentions in their minds. The fight sequence at the restaurant in the episode was simply phenomenal again and showed once again, the power of a woman. She was once again absolutely phenomenal in the episode, Didi and for large portions of the episode. Her bravery, her infallible courage and her mental fortitude, are things that inspire us in our daily lives. Now, in a discussion about her golden moments in CID, the episode Diamond Robbery finds special significance. What an absolutely spine-tingling stunt! The way Purvi was prepared to do anything to save her respected senior, Abhijeet sir was incredible. The way she swung from the rope, and hung in midair, while she rescued Abhijeet sir, was, without doubt, the BEST stunt by a female cop in the history of CID and we can stick our necks out and say, it was one of the most iconic sequences ever seen on Indian Television. It was simply unbelievable, and it is something that will never be surpassed. Never before has a lady done such a daring stunt, which many of the modern hunks on television would not even think of doing. There are three other episodes which deserve special mention and those are Ahmedabad Mein Daya Faraar, where she donned a disguise of a pretty Begum, along with Abhijeet sir and then we were treated to another wonderful shooting sequence with the two of them in a boat, while she sailed through turbulent waters. It was another incredible display of bravery and courage from her. It was so heart-warming to see the lengths to which she went, just for the sake of the show. The other episode we must talk about is Lift Mein Anhoni, which was another Purvi-centric episode and showed Purvi victimised by the ever scathing DCP Chitrole, for a crime that she never committed. The moment that stands out from that episode has to be her tinkling laughter at the end, that wonderful, divine smile which reeks of innocence and perfection. She possesses the most beautiful smile in the world and that is not an overstatement by any measure! Another episode, which showed the amount of courage and dedication that she possessed, is Shark Attack, where she again, she raised the bar to heights that only she can reach, with an incredible underwater stunt to catch the criminal red-handed. It was a stunt, which once again, few would dream of doing but Inspector Purvi dutifully and bravely plunged headlong into the dangerous waters, thereby proving to us again why she us the best lady cop in the history of CID! Of course, how can we forget Sabooton Ka Rahasya, just a few weeks ago. ACP Sir praising Purvi, and then Purvi taking on the pretender and defeating her, thereby proving to her trusting senior, that he did indeed make the right choice by choosing Purvi ahead of anyone else. It was another wonderful performance by her. There was this one magical closeup shot of her eyes, which sent us all into heaven. May God Bless her!

Ansha Sayed is Super Happy Playing Character Of Purvi In CID

Ansha Sayeed is quite kicked playing her character Purvi in Sony Entertainment Television's super hit crime detective show CID.
"She is a subtle girl who does her bit on the field. Purvi is also very calm and tries to understand the situation before coming out with her opinion," this Mumbai-born and brought up B. Com graduate avers.

"It makes me proud just by thinking that I represent females in the CID team. For one, it is quite a challenge every day when you meet all types of people and do different types of scenes. Unlike other daily shows for which you shoot indoors with the comfort of AC, we are always on the run outdoors on the roads, in malls etc," she describes.

Ansha ,who has earlier done Bandhan Saat Janmon Ka and Laagi Tujhse Lagan (both for Colors) further adds, "For a long time, this Fireworks-produced show was watched more by men and kids while women stayed away for they preferred family dramas. But now, all that is changing as we have three women in the team, Shreya (Janvi Chheda), Dr. Tarika (Shraddha Musale), who is in the forensics team, and me."

Coming to her looks, Ansha has no issues with the fact that she does not get to dress up much. "Our costume is quite smart and chic. We (female cops) don't have much of a make-up to do and our hair also has to be always tied up as well. After all this, if you still look good, you are a pretty looking girl right," she smiles.

"Although Laagi' had given me some fame, it was CID that changed the entire ball game for me as an actor. More than the money, what I really love is the respect one gets from people for being a part of this longest running show on the National TV," Ansha ends.

INTERVIEW OF ANSHA SAYED: (Source: Tellybuzz)

The courageous officer Purvi aka  Ansha Sayed is happy being a part of SONY TV's long running popular crime thriller show CID and she shares her journey about the show and much more with TellyBuzz.

Tell us something about yourself...

I am happy playing Purvi in CID and I am a chilled out, easy going and relaxed person in real life.

Tell us something about your early life. How did acting happen to you?

After completing my graduation, someone approached me for acting. I was more interested in Mass media and accounts so I asked my father about it and he said if you wish to give it a try then you can go ahead. I did few episodics in Aahat, then Laagi Tujhse Lagan and few other shows and now here I am, playing the character of Purvi in CID

How has been your journey as officer Purvi so far?

Its been amazing so far and I know that it will be amazing for me always. Purvi for me is Ansha because Purvi is also focused about her work just like Ansha is. I am very happy to do  CID and I wish to do it forever.

Do you think that CID is a turning point for your career?

Yes, definitely it is a turning point for my career because it has given me the recognition and lots of love and respect. Its a pleasant experience to work with this team. All the actors in the team including the crew and the production team is so lovely that anyone who will come here won't like to leave.

Which has been your most challenging task portraying Purvi so far?

I remember one scene, in which I was on a harness and I was hanging. It was like the scariest experience for me. I was hanging and from one side, Daya sir (Dayanand Shetty) was holding my hand and Abhijeet sir (Aditya Srivastav) from the other side. I got goosebumps and I was scared thinking what if this harness will break (laughs)!

Anything which you have learned from the character of Purvi?

I have get to learn a lot of things like I have learned to run. I was wearing a saree while doing Laagi Tujhse Lagan and here, I have to wear shirts and trousers and run. I know how to run but Purvi taught me to sprint and how to slap. I discuss a lot with my co-actors and get to learn a lot from all of them. Purvi has given me a new family.

How do you feel being a part of the long running successful show CID?

The people on the sets of CID are so humble despite being part of the longest running show which holds a record in the record books. I am so proud and honored to be a part of the show. Being a part of this show is just like I am getting an award every day.

Your best performance till date?

It was 'CID Mein Gaddar' episodic which was a Purvi centric episode. I did my best in it.

What kind of bonding do you share with your co-actors?

I share a great bond with everyone on the sets like ACP sir, Abhijeet sir and I have a lot of respect for them. Daya sir is like a friend and I share a very special bond with Tarika, as she is just like me on the sets. She is bindaas and sweet. I don't get much to shoot with Shreya but whenever I do, then its just like a girls gang on the sets with me, Tarika (Shraddha Musale) and Shreya. Hrishikesh Pandey and Shreya are very good co-actors to work with.

What are your interests other than acting?

Watching movies, driving, and listening to music. I like reading but not that much.

Define Ansha in one word.

Energetic.

What kind of roles are you looking forward to play?

I am very happy doing Purvi and I would like to focus on Purvi only. I am not really interested in doing saas bahu sagas since I am happy doing a crime show.

I LOVE WEARING SAREES - ANSHA SAYED

Ansha Sayed who is seen playing the role of Purvi in Sony TV's CID, gets candid with (urlremoved), about how she started doing acting.

What made you chose a career in acting?

It just happened, it was in my destiny. I was never keen on acting, I was never keen on doing Television, it just happened. I was in college and had attended a Jam session and some guys came up to me and asked me if I would like to do modeling. I then told my father, and I got clicked, did a portfolio and it all worked.

What challenges have you had to face in your acting career?

Not really, it took some time for me to understand how the work happens here, but once I understood it was all good.

You have played the role of Purvi for a very long time, how has the experience been?
It is lovely and I am enjoying it. I want to be Purvi. It is like an achievement to be part of CID, and when I joined CID I had that in my mind that I will be doing CID for a very long time, And I said that at the time when I joined it. It has been Mashallah 2 years, and I am still saying it, so you can imagine how much I love CID and Purvi.

When can fans expect to see you in something different than Purvi?

Not right now, because Purvi is a cop and in the show we do a lot of disguise. You get to do different kind of roles when you are undercover, you shoot at different locations and with different actors. It is very interesting that you get to meet new people and every day is a new day.

Rapid Fire:

When is your birthday: 16th July.

Pet name: Yes I do, but I don't want to say that, because it is very funny and I don't want people to call me that.

Favourite outfit: Saree, I love wearing saree.

Writer: Nadia Malik.

"When Sunday ends I feel 'wow' for the new week that starts from Monday" - Ansha Sayed

Sunday for me is:I mostly shoot on Sunday. If I am not shooting then I like to be at home and spend time with my family or watch a movie. In the evening, I like to meet my friends and chill out with them.

On a Sunday I...try to have non-vegetarian food.

A perfect Sunday for me is: Packing up early, spending some time with family and meeting friends in the evening to watch a movie with them.

On a Sunday I get up at: If I am shooting then I wake up at 6 am else I wake up at 10 am.

My Sunday special Khana is: Non Vegetarian food.

My childhood memory related to Sunday: I used to get up in the morning and then I used to get a head massage from my Nani, have non-vegetarian food for lunch and in the evening I used to go out to play with my friends.

After Sunday, comes Monday and my feelings are: I feel 'Wow' that another week has started. People generally don't like Mondays but I like Mondays.

My plans for coming Sunday: No plans as yet but most probably I will be shooting.
