Because he is not fit for tests.Tests is not ODI/T20 that somebody scores a 200 in the flattest pitch in the world and people say he is the next big thing. After India tests v WI he was given chance in SA/NZ and he failed miserably there.  So why would he be given another chance. Kohli despite failures is given chances because he has scored 100's in every country not only in India like Rohit. Rohit does not give you guarantee than he will do well like Kohli does. Any reason why Kohli who has played the same amount of matches has much more runs than rohit? Because rohit has not donr justice to his talent in the last 6 years. In the same 6 years kohli has scored around 30 centuries and around 50 50's combined both ODI/T20.
