Describe a disastrous environmental event that impacted you immensely. One environmental event that has impacted me greatly is the ice storm that gripped Toronto and its surrounding area last year in December. Because of the storm, everyone lost power and many areas, including mine, didn't get power back until a week to 10 days later. This environmental event taught me how much importance I give to electricity and all the things associated with it. There was no TV, no computer, no phone, nothing for 10 days. There was no warmth in our house, we had to bring a gas stove to cook warm food, and even simple things like milk were starting to spoil. It really made you feel the full impact of what Mother Nature can do and even how people lived before all these immenities came into place.
