Former Liverpool and West Ham man Javier Mascherano wants to end his career in Spain.
The Argentina international was chased by Napoli all summer where Rafa Benitez - who he worked under at Liverpool - was keen to add him to his engine room.
But the Barcelona man has committed his future to the Catalan club and all but ruled out returning to the Premier League.
"The opportunity to come to Naples was there," Mascherano said about the summer transfer window.
"With Rafa I have a great relationship but he knows that I could not go and how things are.
"I'll finish my career in Spain as I am very happy here."
