Diya Aur Baati Hum Written Update 16th September 2014

Zakir and Sandhya explain about the new place to RK and Zakir shows his new cell.  Sandhya warns RK that he will get tired at the new place thinking about how to reach his network of people who help him.

In Suraj's sweet shop, Disha is worried as she could not find out where RK is.  Suraj is arranging things to close the shop and he asks whether Disha spoke to someone and she says yes.  She then scolds Suraj as Sandhya is still not back home and he is not worried too and asks him to call Sandhya.  Suraj laughs and says she is a big police officer, so no worries.  Right then, Sandhya comes there and acknowledges it.  Disha asks whether she is returning from duty as Sandhya was wearing saree.  Sandhya says yes and she is on bahu duty.  She tells Disha to go as it is already too late.

Suraj is about to close the shutters and Sandhya tells she needs to take something from the shop.  Suraj goes to look for it and Sandhya enters the shop and closes the shutters.  She gives new jeans, T-shirt and a coat to Suraj as gift.  Suraj says it is nice but he would not be wearing it and asks her to get it exchanged to kurta as he is comfortable in that.  Sandhya insists on him wearing the new dress and Suraj gets Bhabho's call and escapes from there.  Sandhya tells she is a police officer and will catch him.

In the morning, Bhabhasa asks Bhabho about preparing sweets on the occasion and Dussehra and Bhabho taunts him.  Meena brings tea to Bhabhasa.  Sandhya comes there and speaks to Meena about whatever happened the previous day and comforts her saying everything will be fine.  Bhabho asks Sandhya to put batteries in the torch.  Suraj is sitting having tea and reading newspaper.  Prema comes there for shop keys.  She is wearing the saree which Vikram gifted.  Vikram gives her the shop keys and compliments her in that saree.  Prema says thanks and leaves.  Meena is fuming seeing it.  Bhabho is also not happy and goes inside.  Sandhya puts the batteries in the torch and checks it.  She directs the light to Suraj's face.  Suraj is surprised.  Sandhya then gives flying kiss and Suraj returns it when Bhabho notices him and asks what.  Suraj fakes neck sprain and Sandhya laughs.  Bhabho asks Sandhya to reveal the reason to all so that they will also join in the laughing and goes to kitchen.  SurYa smile at each other and then Bhabho shouts whether Sandhya will keep staring her husband or get ready for duty and Sandhya replies she is leaving for duty.

Chavvi opens the door and maid comes in.  Chavvi wonders how she has come early and the maid says her new house grihapravesh is next day.  Chavvi asks about how she managed money and maid says she stole her mother-in-law's money.  Chavvi is shocked and asks whether it is right or wrong and maid encourages her saying nothing wrong in it.

Sandhya is ready for duty and walks down the hanuman galli.  Disha who is also waiting for Sandhya follows her.

Meena is drying clothes upstairs and sees Prema getting ready to do pooja in the shop.  She swears she will burn Prema as her heart is burning and runs to the kitchen.  She heats the bottom of a brass diya to red hot.  She then carries it carefully using a cloth and goes to shop.  Prema goes to Suraj's shop to get water and Meena replaces the red hot diya with the one that was there in the shop and puts oil and baati in it and runs back to house and upstairs to watch what is going to happen in the shop.  Prema returns back and starts the pooja.  She lights the diya and holds it and drops it immediately as it was very hot.  The diya falls on some sarees and sarees catch fire.  Prema wiggles her hand in pain and then notices the fire.  Meena who is watching all this from upstairs also notices the fire and comes running down screaming about fire in the shop.

Precap:  Disha who is following Sandhya sees that Sandhya has changed to a saree and wonders about it.  She sees Lakshman there and tells him that she felt like she saw Sandhya there and Lakshman says it is true as he also saw Sandhya who went to some mohalla in a rickshaw.
