I do not understand how Rajesh Khanna became a superstar. I often find stories of his fan following exaggerated (like girls kissed his car or spread out dupattas for him). I think the only worthy film he did was Anand.
I hate his pimply face, slow style of speaking. I hated him even more when I read about his real life.
When I watched his films on TV I disliked his characters as in most films he does pre marital or extra marital sex and then leaves or dies, leaving woman pregnant with an illegitimate child. Both woman and child rot then. Or child gets good adoptive parents while woman rots in shame.
I didn't understand why people liked this man who always makes girls unwed mothers!
I felt his films were MCP types when in some of them he admonished his wife for trying birth control. His dialogues on woman being born to give birth and painting them evil if they did not want to get pregnant were really backward.
There is similar agenda in Rajendra Kumar's films also who had all heroines as childish dolls. He would mostly laugh at his silly heroine in films.
I cannot believe women found these heroes some dreamboats!
Maybe this is generation gap but I can seriously not relate to such heroes or films.
