Universal Motion

Around the hub, the galaxies turn
Pinwheels scrubbed, in magnetic urn
Gravity attracts, while motion glides
Equal force acts, to sustain the rides

The Milky Way, is towed along
Its center conveyed, by nature's song
The flux lines strum, as they pass by
A radio hum, an electrical sigh

And so it be, with our own sun
By magnetic sea, its field is spun
The axial spin, then thus does tow
It's satellites in an induction row

The best conductors turn fairly fast
While the resistors last with the past
Lines of force roll round the outside
Because the course is too dense inside

When the field of the planet is low
It tends to yield all turning flow
If more than one set of poles it has
It will turn yet, but less as lines pass

Poem

Stormin' Mornin'

The voltage builds
As electrons swept
From trailing edge
To some front they crept

As the earth turns
They fail to keep up
In moisture churns
They gather abrupt

As raindrops fall
The water collects
Oxygen worlds
Amidst their own chests

The valance orbits
Of the extreme moons
Gravity weakened
As repulsion wounds

Pressure overwhelms
Micro universe
External planets
New systems converse

It's In The Water !

When I was young, so very young
I would hear the cry of those moms
Who did stay home to raise their kids
While others ran away to play or strapped for the work they did

'In whose hands are you leaving your children? '

When in my latter teen years, home
Back from work on a week end night
My own classmates, parte' away
Why, when the clock ticked ten the local news, kindly display?

'Parents, where are your children? '

For I did know just where they were
While mother said, 'I'm glad your home! '
Damn this news thing, she'd seen it too'
For there was too many a time myself, I did go roam.

But out here in the old Midwest
They say that we are far behind'
No way, I say! We toke as hell!
It's just not the way of our parental kind set of mind

For they grew up from the old school
That taught things always would happen
During the night when so shady
You would never ever find goin' in daylight's dampen

Missing children, famly' stories
Of how just the old times did go
And her mother once relayed to her
This deep dark family secret, you know

Yea, right! Mom those are fairy tales.
As I did tune then in to view
The latest from my high school friends
About a new show that you should see too

You see I have heard those stories
From others so many years ago
I knew not where I heard before
But it was not just from my mom you know

She was not there I realize
The first time I heard the words 'Live,
From New York' show, but I do now
Remember 'twas from dad's friend who did strive

About a man did picket cross
I overheard early today
How they seen him later near home
He had four flats, a lesson fast, their way!

That's not right, maybe he had to
His children may have needed bread
And never approved of stealing
Or even charity to get them fed

Knowing the unions, how do they say?
'It's my way or the highway' bro
And they say supervisors do?
Who's right, who's wrong? It's still that way ya know

But there is one from long ago
That no-one here may remember
About when times were very hard
And so deadly the sad done surrender

I have pieced it all together
For I'm one big History nut
You may think I am crazy but,
Maybe someday while near a campfire's hut

I'll relay a story to my own
Of how my family seed was sown

For it seems He never changes
In the way He loves his children
For now I know one they do not
And the hidden secrets all the hills rend

But being the nut I am, I do
Genealogy of them too
And searching those cemeteries
Here's one they may not care for to pay due

How the cholera was here too
And now I even do know it
For I have watched some spooky ones
Of times far past and they still show it

I'd search courthouses for so long
And have found the stones to prove it
How my famly' too, lost one at two
Age of child's wean, more or less, remove it
Just how it spreads, and they all knew
So did Nostradamus and Poe too

The water dummies! Sinners Creek!
Good man's spring! Cholera, Black Plague,
Bubonic Plague!

If you drink water from one town
That it's sewer has polluted
So far downstream, you know it not
But the waste is yet to be diluted.

Babies and old men, give satan away every time!
Maybe God's hand makes us take a stand, as I have solved that one
Now many will claim that they already did
For there are some who've always known it
They may have even kept it freshly repainted
Sometimes there are little clues we miss every day
But when they are revealed this way
It tends to make us wonder

But don't spend all our time looking for clues
Or as the old timers would say
'Daydreaming doesn't get the work done'
Or did liberal schools make us that way
Oh well, they say; one must eat, so I better go.
Right there; no work, no pay, but the old timers always knew that one!

UNDEFINED EMOTION

as gentle as a breeze,
it touched my heart,
that feeling knocked me down,
I got up and found myself staring at those beautiful eyes brown.
Those which spoke volumes,
turned my heart to wax,
The flame out there burned me down,
I had to pay love as a tax.

Through Thick And Thin

I could skip a heartbeat, and I would survive,
I could be in a car crash, and still be alive.
The clouds could fall out of the sky,
The oceans could disappear, and all turn dry.

These things in life are all bad I know,
but there's far worse things,
just thought you should know.

Life would not be the same without someone like you,
You're there when I need you to help me through.
Through the good times and through the bad,
Be them happy, or be them sad.

I don't have to be with you, to know you're there,
We don't have to see each other, to know that we care.
We could be apart for years upon end,
and still remain the best of friends.

Life goes on, and people change,
And through it all, our friendship shall remain the same.
That's such as a life, and how things come to be.
Just thought you should know,

HOW MUCH YOU MEAN TO ME.

Growing Up With Grandma

I don't know when it happened.
I don't know when she came,
But, she's the one I always knew,
Grandma was her name.

She taught me how to tie my shoes.
She taught me how to talk.
And, though I can't remember,
I think she taught me how to walk.

When all the other kids in school
Would talk about Mom and Dad,
I wondered where my parents were,
That made me kinda' sad.

And, sometimes there were days I'd cry
Or hide my head in shame.
But Grandma took it all in stride,
And loved me all the same.

She'd wrap her arms around me,
And kiss me on the head.
She'd tell me that she loved me
When she tucked me into bed.

Being a teen, I remember the days
When being with friends was more fun.
And I wondered what it would have been like
To actually be someone's son.

To have a regular family
Some siblings, a mom, and a dad,
What had I done to deserve less than others?
Sometimes I felt so mad.

'It's alright, it's okay,' Grandma would say,
'One day you'll understand why,
Life just isn't fair to everyone you see.
It's always okay to cry.'

And when I went off to college,
I met the love of my life.
It was Grandma who was the first I told
That I planned to make her my wife.

Soon after I'd become a father,
For that I could hardly wait.
To have a child of my very own,
And, to make my Grandma a 'Great'.

A little girl to share her name,
For all that she'd given me.
So much I owed to Grandma,
That was plain to see.

As time passed and life grew short
I hoped my Grandma knew
That it was her love and her support
That always got me through.

If I could tell her one more thing
'Thanks Grandma', is what I 'd say
For loving me and making me,
The man I am today.

A Broken Puzzle

When I found you
I found me
I was no longer alone
I was put together
There were no missing pieces
We were the perfect puzzle
On lookers envied what we had
We had so many beautiful memories
That they're not even possible to forget
That part of my life was my life
The life I loved

Then I lost you somewhere
Along the way
There were no fights or disagreements
Our puzzle just broke
Piece by piece it fell apart
Soon it disappeared
I've tried to get it back
I've done everything
The pieces of the puzzle
Just don't fit together any more
I found your pieces reconnecting
With new pieces
My pieces were left torn and shattered
Alone in there box

I just want one last look
at that beautiful puzzle we shared
Even thought it won't help me get over the pain
The pain that has ruled my life for months
I just cant close the cover to that puzzle box

Falling in Love

This poem is about a special man in my life. He's my inspiration for writing this poem. He's the thought that makes me smile and he's the rhythm that makes my heart beat. I wanted to share a piece of my heart on how beautiful the feeling is of "when love begins" and being able to share that love with that right person...

When Love Begins

I always knew that love would come find me someday
but never did I know that it would be you who was headed my way
you caught me off guard and took me by surprise
but you simply captivated me, the same way you do when I look into your eyes

It's true that every good and perfect gift is from above
you were presented to me as a beautifully packaged gift full of humor, talent, intelligence, beauty and love
"it isn't finding the perfect person but learning to see an imperfect person perfectly"
we all have our flaws but when I view you through my eyes, perfection is all I see

From when you laugh to when you're upset, I still love the little things you do
especially hearing you laugh and seeing your nose wrinkle the same way mine does too
coming into this relationship has been hard at times but we've made it through
I know as long as we're on this journey together, there's nothing that we can't do.

Sometimes I wonder if what we have is too good to be true
too scared to get my heart broken and scared of the thought of losing you
but in the end, I trust in the author and perfecter of what I believe
because what we ask for in Him, we in return shall receive

"Where your treasure is, your heart will be also" is how the saying goes
I may not know what tomorrow may bring, for God is the only one who knows
the one thing I do know is that you are my one and only
a treasure in my heart that I want to devote my whole life to completely

I know I don't need to prove my feelings to know they're true
because what I've known in my past, doesn't come close to the experience I've shared with you
I've had the experience of being in relationships before
however, this is the first time I've been truly happy... I couldn't ask for anything more
it's an honor to know that I am yours, as you are mine
and I trust God that He'll bring us together in His beautiful time

For now, I'll be waiting patiently for that day when we'll be together
that precious moment in time when I'll say, "it's you that I want to be with forever"
God made everything beautiful, precious and new
just as beautiful and precious as the day will be, when I look into your eyes and say, "I Love You"

Childhood Friend

Hi! my name is Lauren Manning. I will soon be a senior at Wills Point High School. I wrote this poem for an assignment in AP English. This poem is true; me and my best friend Lacey met in day care when we were three years old. Another girl in day care yanked a book out of Lacey's hand and made her cry and that is how our friendship began!! Truly, my life would not be the same without her and I am grateful to God for her.

Friendship: One Of God's Greatest Gifts

I was the young age of three,
and oh, so very small.
I knew almost nothing,
nothing at all.

When I saw a cute little girl,
shaking with fear.
All along in the corner
with her eyes full of tears.

I thought to myself,
I'll go be her friend.
So I went over to her
and touched her sweet little hand.

I said to my new friend,
"Do you want to play?"
My new friend said, "yes,"
and her tears went away.

It's been fifteen years now
and our friendship's still strong
I can hardly believe
we been best friends this long.

As I went to her that day
I was the angel to be.
How could I have known
that God sent her to me?

But, angels need two wings
if they don't want to sit and just rest,
So, God combined both our wings
to show us were blessed.

We can't thank him enough
for his gift of kindness and love
We are both each others angels
sent from heaven above!
