Hey guys!  Here's the end of the story.  Its a little long.  The first half leads up to the discovery of the murderer and the second half is an explanation on how the murders were done.  Hope you guys enjoy it.  I think its a pretty good ending, but just incase you guys disagree, I apologize in advance.  Especially to Sandeshini if it ends up being pale like some CID episodes.😉  With all of your encouragement, I will try to do better next time.

Part 4

Upon hearing Anand Kapoor's description of the woman he worked for, Daya asked him about her hairstyle and hair color.  Anand said that her hair was brown and very straight.  After this, Daya became even more certain that the girl was Shalini Sinha.  When he asked Anand for the room number where he took Payal to meet the woman, Anand said it was 308.  This was not the same room where Payal had fallen from the balcony.  Daya took Abhijeet and ACP aside and told them about Shalini.  They agreed with him that it was important to find out more about her.

ACP called Qureshi Sahib over and asked him who had been staying in room 308 the night when Payal had been murdered.  He looked in the registry and told him that it was reserved under the name of Amit Singh, who had been staying there for four nights, the last one being the night when Payal was murdered.  Daya and Abhijeet looked at each other with startled expressions.  Was this the same Amit that was Payal's boyfriend?  Before they could say anything, ACP told them he was indeed the same Amit.  When he had come to the office, he had written his name as Amit Singh.  This evidence seemed to indicate that Amit was involved in the murders of Payal and Mansi.

That moment, Muskaan arrived at the scene.  She had some interesting news.  She told them that while carefully searching Mansi's room, she had found a photo that showed Amit and Mansi together!  It seemed like Mansi was also one of Amit's girlfriends.  Daya told Muskaan about everything they had just discovered.  Muskaan was shocked.  She couldn't understand why Amit would start a relationship with girls and then kill them.

They were just wondering about this when Daya received a call from Mehta Ji.  He told them that Shalini had just called in to take the rest of the week off from work.  She claimed that her mother was ill and she needed to go out of town.  When Daya told this to ACP he decided that they should go to Shalini's house to check if she is there.  He asked for her address.  When Fredricks told him the address, ACP looked up suddenly in surprise and said that this was Amit's address!  Shalini and Amit lived in the same house?  It definitely seemed like they were both involved in the murders.  ACP told Fredricks and Muskaan to wait at the hotel with Anand in case Shalini arrived there, and he took Daya and Abhijeet to Shalini and Amit's house.

When they knocked on the door of the house, Amit opened it.  Daya and Abhijeet quickly surrounded him and began to ask him why he had killed Payal and Mansi.  Amit looked stunned and asked them what happened to Mansi, as if he didn't know.  Abhijeet told him to stop the drama and tell the truth.  ACP told him that the CID had found out that Amit had stayed at Taj Hotel the night when Payal died, and Anand Kapoor had brought Payal to his room.  Amit admitted that he had stayed in Taj Hotel, but insisted that he had checked out one morning before the day Payal had fallen from the balcony.  Abhijeet asked him why he had needed a room in a hotel when he had such a nice house in Mumbai.  Amit told them that his wife Shalini had found out about his relationships with other women and she had told him to leave the house.

ACP was not convinced that Amit was telling the truth.  He asked him why Shalini was Shalini Sinha instead of Shalini Singh if they were infact married.  Amit explained that Shalini did not want to change her name after their marriage, and as proof, he showed them a picture of their wedding hanging on the wall of the living room.  Daya asked Amit how he was able to work things out with Shalini and return home.  Amit told them that when he called Shalini over and over again for three days and apologized, she finally came to meet him at the hotel.  There, Amit promised her that he would never look at another woman again.  Finally Shalini forgave him and they returned home.

For this first time, ACP began to think that perhaps Amit was not lying.  He asked him who had returned the keys to the hotel staff.  Amit told him that he was about to return them, but Shalini had taken them from him, and went to return them herself while she told Amit to bring the car to the front of the hotel.  At that moment, Daya suddenly remembered Julie, the girl who Anand had just called to the hotel.  When he mentioned the name to Amit, he told them that she had also been one of his girlfriends.  Now ACP understood everything clearly.  Shalini had kept the keys and the room for an extra day.  But where was this Shalini?  Amit told them that he had been trying her phone for a long time but she wasn't answering.  Just then, Fredricks called ACP.  He told them that Shalini had come to the hotel to meet Anand and kill Julie, and he and Muskaan had arrested her.  ACP, Daya and Abhijeet took Amit with them and headed back to the hotel.

As soon as she saw them, Shalini began to cry and confessed to the murder.  He told them that even after forgiving Amit, she could not be content.  She was afraid that the three girls that he was involved with would eventually try to enter his life again.  Shalini found out that Payal had left her job at Mehta Industries and was looking for a new job, so she decided to use this to her advantage.  Amit interrupted to explain to the CID that Payal had left Mehta Industries because Shalini worked there.  Just a few days before she left the job, Amit had told her that he was not willing to leave his wife for her.  Payal became angry at him and stopped talking to him.  She then decided to leave Mehta Industries because she couldn't tolerate seeing Shalini on a regular basis.

ACP told Shalini to continue her story.  She told them that she had stolen poison from her company.  Then she had hired Anand Kapoor.  After having dinner with Payal and talking to her about a job offer, Anand had taken her to Shalini's room, claiming that the women in the room was the manager of a big company that wanted to hire Payal.  The light in the room was dim and Shalini was wearing dark glasses and a wig so Payal wouldn't recognize her.  She offered Payal a drink with the poison in it, and without suspecting anything, Payal drank it.  When she had died, Shalini became a little worried.  She didn't know what to do with the body.  Finally she decided to get a room in Payal's name and took Payal's body there in a suitcase.  Shalini waited and planned her moves until the morning and then threw the body off the balcony.  Then she ran out of the room hiding her face with a shawl.  She was sure the the police would think it was a suicide.

The next day, Shalini went to Mansi's house and watched as Mansi's father drove away.  Then she entered secretly through a window.  By sneaking around quietly she quickly discovered that Mansi was alone.  There was a cup of tea on her bedside table, but Mansi was downstairs talking on the phone.  Shalini mixed poison in the tea and hid behind a cabinet.  She watched as Mansi returned, drank the tea and eventually died.  Then she threw her out of the window.  Just as she was about to pick up the bottle of poison, she saw from a window that the CID inspectors were getting out of their car outside the house.  She accidentally left the bottle behind as she rushed out of the house through the back door.  Even when she realized that she had left behind the bottle, Shalini believed she would still be safe because the CID would not be able to trace it back to her.

ACP told her that she had made a big mistake by underestimating the CID.  Now after killing two girls and planning the murder of a third, it was time for her to prepare for atleast a lifetime in jail, if not the death sentence.
