YOUR SAY Cell v/s Cell

Saturday, October 06, 2007  14:19 IST

Drivers beware. Now if you're behind the wheel and talking on the phone, you may be headed straight to jail.

Now you could get behind bars for more than just drinking and driving.

According to the Mumbai traffic police website, rule 250 (A) (1) of the Maharashtra Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989, bans the use of mobile phones by drivers of cars and two-wheelers.

So now if you're behind the wheel and talking on the phone, you may be headed straight to jail.

Is the law too harsh or is the ruling good for Mumbai?

well we have had the rule here in UK for long time now, and it works, very well, less accidents wil occur as of it 😊

You will get a fine or something- pay money

if you keep commiting this offence then yes u can go to jail,

rules are not there to b harsh, simply to help others and prevent less accidents, as wen u r distrcted - accidents do occur,
