BTW, why do tamil speaking people call it "Diwali" and not Deepavali?

err.. I think you missed the intent of my Q. The stress is on "speakers of the Tamil language" or Tamils in this forum. I don't visit other language forums and don't care what/or how they call Deepavali in their language.

jemin happy deevali and sure i will tell in tamil happy deepavali ,do u know i am not tamilian i am sourastrian like wise some might be other language in their mother tongue and know to speak tamil .
