FIR' actor Kavita Kaushik can only marry beau Karan Grover after they have earned enough to buy a big house, reports Rashmi Hemrajani

MUMBAI: Every comedy has its flavour. There is an audience that wants to come home and switch on the television and smile," says actor Kavita Kaushik. Kavita caters to that lot. She has done many a show such as 'Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki', 'Kumkumā€”Ek Pyara Sa Bhadhan', 'Dil Kya Chahtha Hai', 'Remix', 'Tumhari Disha' and is currently seen as Chandramukhi Chautala in the show 'FIR' (Season 2) on SAB.

Here, she plays the role of a Haryanvi inspector and the only thing she is keen about in the police station is Inspector Hanuman Prasad Pandey. Incidentally, Hanuman is played by actor Karan Grover, also her real-life love interest. So was it a package deal? Kavita answers, "Karan would often visit me on the sets. The director and writer thought that it would be a great idea to get him on the show."

Coming back to her role of a flirtatious, loud and unethical female inspector, Kavita agrees that it is a whacky concept. She says, "All of us on the sets are crazy. Also, the production team gives us the creative space to improvise. With non-egoistic stars and a wonderful crew, it gets easier. On the sets I am like a tomboy and quite the prankster."

For essaying Chandramukhi, Kavita draws inspiration from her father who is an ex-IAS officer. She says, "He is very proud to see his daughter in uniform."
