UAE group wins at Gourmand World Cookbook Awards

Sharjah, Dec 30 (IANS/WAM) The Kalimat Publishing House from Sharjah has won the best cookbook translation award in the UAE at the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards 2012.

Sharjah, Dec 30 (IANS/WAM) The Kalimat Publishing House from Sharjah has won the best cookbook translation award in the UAE at the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards 2012.

Kalimat won for the children's cookbook "Lathith Jiddan" (It Is So Yummy), authored by Fanny Letorunel and translated by Rania Sanyoura.

The children's cookbook, with illustrations by Rebecca Galera, is filled with simple yet delicious recipes for breakfast, cold and warm main courses and deserts.

Every recipe in the book has been tested and can easily be cooked by children with only a little assistance from their parents or an adult.

The winner in each country competes against winners in the same category in other countries for The Best in the World. The final results will be announced Feb 23, 2013 at the annual Gourmand World Cookbook Awards Gala in Paris.
