Defence, petroleum ministries told to resolve issues

New Delhi, Jan 30 (IANS) The cabinet committee on investment Wednesday asked the defence and petroleum and natural gas ministries to resolve in one month issues linked to the exploration activities in 39 New Exploration Licensing Policy oil (NELP) and gas blocks.

New Delhi, Jan 30 (IANS) The cabinet committee on investment Wednesday asked the defence and petroleum and natural gas ministries to resolve in one month issues linked to the exploration activities in 39 New Exploration Licensing Policy oil (NELP) and gas blocks.

The meeting was presided over by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

An official release said: "The issues of the ministry of defence and ministry of petroleum and natural Gas were discussed in detail. The CCI has directed that both the defence ministry and the petroleum ministry discuss the issue in detail and formulate solutions within one month."

Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari said the oil and natural gas sector was discussed during the meeting.
