Lucknow, Nov 26 (IANS) The opposition Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) in Uttar Pradesh Monday attacked the Samajwadi Party−led government on the deteriorating law and order situation and demanded imposition of president's rule in the state.

Leader of Opposition in the legislative council Naseemuddin Siddiqui of the BSP said there was "complete anarchy" in the state and demanded the government's dismissal.

"There is chaos in the state, criminals are ruling the roost and riots have broken out in many parts of the state," he said.

The state government was hand in glove with criminals, he alleged.

Swamy Prasad Maurya, leader of opposition in the assembly, accused the state government of avoiding a discussion on the law and order situation.

In the last six months, more than a dozen people have lost their lives in riots across the state, the BSP leader said.
