Nirja Guleri files a case against Sunil Agnihotri!

Adaptation and copyright issues are not new in Bollywood industry, but the same seems to have made its way into television as well.

Here is what the buzz is...

All are aware that Sahara One's Kahani Chandrakanta Ki Produced and Directed by Sunil Agnihotri is the sequel to the evergreen and successful show Chandrakanta which was earlier aired on Doordarshan. The show was earlier Produced by Nirja Guleri and directed by Nirja Guleri and Sunil Agnihotri.

But the latest we hear is that Sunil has apparently violated the copyrights of the earlier show while adapting to make the new version and following this Nirja Guleri has filed a complaint against the producer.

A source informs Tellybuzz, "The reason to file the case against Sunil Agnihotri was some copyright issues. According to Nirja, Sunil has not followed the rules of copyrights because he has brought in same characters and the story back on television. This was not properly discussed among them."

We contacted Sunil Agnihotri and he states, "Yes, it's true that Nirja has filed a case against us for copy right issues. But I am aware of all the rules of copyright and I have followed them accordingly. The case has been filed, but nothing is done on the same and my Kahani Chandrakanta Kii is going on smoothly."

Let's see how the issue gets sorted out...
