'Uttaran' completes 900 episodes, team celebrates

Popular TV show "Uttaran", which had two generation leaps since it went on air in 2008, will complete a run of 900 episodes.
The cast and the crew of the show celebrated the milestone Thursday by cutting a cake.
"I'm very happy that the show has reached this milestone. I feel I'm the luckiest person in Indian television industry, whose first serial has completed 900 episodes," Tina said in a press statement.
"Uttaran" went on air in December 2008 on Colors, as a story of two girls - Ichcha, who belonged to slums, and Tapasya, who belonged to a rich family. It traced the ups and downs of their friendship, given their different economic background. The title of the show stood as a metaphor for the hand-me-downs that the poor girl received from the rich girl.
The storyline took a 10-year leap forward in 2009 and actors Tina and Rashmi Desai were introduced. Tina, who has continued her association with the show as Ichcha even post the latest leap in March, is excited.
Currently, the story of "Uttaran" focusses on Ichcha and Tapasya. While Tapasya has a daughter Mukta, Ichcha has three children - Kanha, whom she adopted, as well as Meethi and son Yuvraj.
When "Uttaran", produced by Pintoo Guha, hit the small screen, it was lapped up by the audience for its fresh content.
"The show has worked so well that it proves the fact that everyone works together as a team to better every scene. Completing 900 episodes is a rare feat indeed and I wish the team of 'Uttaran' hearty congratulations for supporting us for so long," said Guha.

I won't comment anything on this show as I don't watch it and I don't want to hurt the feelings of the Uttaran fans...but I want to just say that there is one thing impractical about this show...how can the daughter look exactly like the mother??? Pavitra Rishta in zee tv also took a 18-year leap...but its awesome!!!! They are atleast showing something practical in PR!! PR ROCKS!!!

Utran is the best and will remain so forever. Those who dont like it should not watch it rather than watching and disliking it everyday. Those who give negative views on it for each of its components in detail know everything about it. This is not possible without watching it. They should, instead of watching it everyday and passing comments should watch a serial where characters simply sleep, eat, dance, walk, cook with boring things like spraying extra chilli on food and opening taps wetting the house. But the fact remains that utran is best and will remain so afterall trp says it that it is good and slaps the critics every Wednesday. I will keep watching it even after 1000 episodes as well as 2000 and so will the critics.

@smilee17 there is sumthng called promo. Which is also not bearable for dat 30sec or 1min. N btw i dnt wnt to go mad n suicide by seeing dis crap. Y indian audience always want to c d same typical rona dhona serial, EVERCRYING BAHU. Pls end dis crap yaar

All bashers go get a life man..no one is forcing u to watch This show..ok if u all have common sense then just take ur remote and watch those faltu eyelock and hot leads falling type shows...Uttran was is and will be best forever...none of u can change that fact...Ok...Cuurent TRps of the 2.9...much higher then the so called new shows...lolz Big Slap on Your Face Bashers!!!!!!!!!!...
