The young and talented "Indian Idol 6" finalist Devendra Pal Singh, who has begun his career in playback singing with "Loni hassen", says he will never ignore his studies to be on camera.
Post the show, the 17-year-old has been on a roll and is now looking forward to giving his Class 12 exams in March next year.
"For me, everything is the same post 'Indian Idol 6'. But for others, it is different. People recognise me and treat me as a star. I am very thankful to god for being so kind to me," Singh told IANS.
"After spending four months in 'Indian Idol 6', doing some live shows and recording my first movie song, I am going to appear for my Class 12 exams next year. I will keep singing and doing live shows, but will never ignore my studies. And I believe no one should do that," he said.
Singh has been learning classical music for five years now and plays the harmonium. During the show, he especially impressed singing legend Asha Bhosle with his melodious voice.
Singh has recorded his first album "Indian Idol - Fabulous Four" with his co-contestants Amit Kumar, Vipul Mehta and Poorvi Koutish. It was launched last month by Universal Music.
The Ludhiana-based youngster, who does not miss his 'riyaaz' even for a single day, has been travelling across the country for live shows. He also plans to shift base to Mumbai as soon as he is done with his exams.

At the age of 17 he feels that education should never be neglected is a big deal because when you're at that age the only thing you want to do is get famous and nothing else. I like his advice to youngsters and hope they follow and learn something from him. If you get fame, money and everything at a young age its good that means you're lucky but there's no guarantee it'll stay with you forever so never neglect education. :)

The most notorious villian in Hindi movies is made Pakistani Kick boxer. which is not good to be a friendly way. moreover, we do not burn things in the cricket field. we know how to face defeat. We only win hearts. This movie leads to racist. We do not accept this move Lahore to named for our loved city. Disagree Disagree Disagree

I'am a PAKSTANI living in abroad, and i get TOO damn tired watching movies which are SUPPOSED to spread a peace message, but turns out be pro- india/pakistan instead.. CUT THE CRAP if u cant make a movie which SHOWS u find good ppl and bad ppl EVERYWHERE, in the every DAMN corner of the world!! I was hoping that this movie might be neautral, but hey.. why am i not surprised.. :)

it is typical bollywood movie publicized as being a good will movie showing friendship between Pakistan and India while in reality it shows (like always) that Pakistani team are the cheaters. how can you promote friendship if you are showing this?
