The Bollywood starlet, Aarti Chabria who was seen as a
contestant on the popular dance reality show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa – Dancing with
the Stars on Colors, got eliminated this week from the show. This week the face
off was between Aarti Chhabria and Karanvir Bohra in which Aarti lost the battle and got
eliminated. But well as we say that something ending is a start of something new, is no different for this talented girl too.
Your most memorable moment on Jhalak?
Do you think it was a fair elimination?
Actress Aarti Chhabria besides being an actor is a very good dancer too as we have seen in Jhalak Dikhla Jaa. She came up with spectacular performances every week on the show along with her choreographer Cornell. Even though being badly injured she never gave up to quit the show but smartly handled the situation and gave her best performances even when she was in pain.
A fighter in the true sense Aarti talks to TellyBuzz about her journey throughout Jhalak, the thing that she will miss the most about being a part of Jhalak, about her acting and much more.
Let's have a look on what she said…
How has your journey been in Jhalak
dikhla Jaa?
My journey in Jhalak Dikhla Jaa was very interesting. I faced ups and downs but
it is a part and parcel of life. I started off with 8 as my score, after which I
got more and sometimes less marks too. Overall it was a brilliant experience for me
and I enjoyed every part of it. Dance has always been my love and I was
very happy to take up Jhalak Dikhla Jaa. I lost weight and have become much slimmer
too. I met lots of new people and made good friends too on the show.
What made you take up Jhalak Dikhla Jaa?
What made you take up Jhalak Dikhla Jaa?
I used to watch the previous seasons of Jhalak Dikhla Jaa and I used to like
the show and its concept very much. It was like the best dance reality show for
me on my favorite channel on television namely Colors, and hence even I wanted
to be a part of it and take my passion for dance ahead.
Are you a trained dancer?
I wouldn't say that I am a trained dancer as whatever I know comes from the
Bollywood dance that I have done in my movies. It is a film experience I would
say. Apart from that since my childhood I have been very enthusiastic when it used
to come to dance. I love Indian classical very much and I had kept it for the
last to be shown on the show but well before that I got eliminated.
As a whole the entire journey of Jhalak Dikhla Jaa has been very
memorable for
me. Right from the very first episode that I started till now, it has
been superb. Judges' comments, each performance, learning different
forms of dancing
and much more is what I am going to take along with me from this show.
How was Cornell as a choreographer?
We were like two friends who shared a love-hate relationship throughout. He was
a real task master I would say. He was my guru and I got to learn a lot from
him. After my injury he kept the choreography simple so that I don't
find much difficulty. Many a times it would so happen that I would not be able
to do the dance moments and I used to tell him that don't you see that I cannot
perform this, and he used to encourage me saying I can. It was a nice and funny
time that I spent with him.
What will you miss about Jhalak Dikhla Jaa?
I will miss the people behind the camera, the Colors channel people, the PR team who was along with us and the BBC crew. It was like a Jhalak home for me. I bonded really well along with them. They were very kind and encouraging. Even when I got injured, they used to keep asking me about my health. I will miss them all.

Who do you think is the strongest
contender on Jhalak and has the chances to win?
Honestly I would say that Lauren dances beautifully, I like her performances
and the way she dances. Even we all know that Salman is a superb choreographer
and lucky is the celeb (Drashti Dhami, this year) who gets him as a choreographer. So also Mukti Mohan
from the wild card entry dances really well. We have been seeing Shaan and his
growth in dancing on the show. He is an untrained dancer but he dances very
good too now. But if we go through the format of the show I would want a non
dancer to win the show.
What do you think about the wild card
entry contestants?
I find all of them really good. Sana has a very good energy and that is a plus
point for her. Mantra is dramatic in whatever he does, so he tries to get into
the character which is very nice. Karan Patel is very good too, he is one very
honest and witty person on the sets of Jhalak and I like him for that. Mukti
Mohan dances gracefully and very well too.
Yes, it was absolutely a fair elimination. I feel I have survived a good
6 weeks
on the show even after being injured. I am happy with the elimination. I
take life as it comes and I believe in what happens, it happens for
good. I was
injured and I needed rest too. My doctor had told me to strictly take 3
weeks
bed rest but I couldn't because I did not want to quit Jhalak. Come may
what may, I wanted to give my performances. I am a fighter and I am
happy with my
performances and the eliminations.
Who is your favorite judge on the show?
Madhuri Dixit has been my idol and will always stay so. But Karan Johar was
absolutely brilliant. His comments were to the point and very accurate and also
he has a superb sense of humor. He is a very fair human being. So I would say
that Karan Johar was one of my favorite judge on Jhalak Dikhla Jaa.
It has been long that we saw you in
movies, had you taken a break?
I was never away from movies, After my last movie which I did in 2011, I
took
up the show Fear Factor, then I went to New York to do a course in Film
making,
After that I did a Punjabi movie and now I am doing Jhalak Dikhla Jaa.
So I was
never free, my schedule has been very busy so far. I have also done
movies in
different languages namely Telugu and Kannada. I have never restricted
myself
from doing anything in life. I like taking up different things to
explore my talent. If you see I have not limited myself to movies only, I
have been
trying many different things at the same time.
But will we see you soon in Movies?
My Punjabi movie Viyaah 70 km is all set
to release this coming September. Apart from that Bollywood has always welcomed me
with arms wide open. So if I get a good opportunity my way, I would really be
very happy to grab it.
We wish Aarti Chabria good luck for her career!
