'I am really happy to be a part of Khelti Hai Zindagi Aankh Micholi'

The talented actress Gautami Kapoor who has entertained the audience with her acting skills in television soaps like Ghar Ek Mandir, Lip Stick, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and many more, is back with a bang with the show Khelti Hai Zindagi Aankh Micholi after 6 long years.

The show Khelti Hai Zindagi produced by Essel Vision brings in a totally new concept show for the viewers. It brings to us the fresh storyline of adolescence which is a critical stage in one's life as we all know, where we undergo the process of soul searching and finding one's own identity and individuality. Youth seem to stumble and get lost along the way and look up to an elder person who can truly understands them. This unique story will be brought to limelight with many twist and turns making it interesting for the viewers.

Gautami Kapoor will be seen playing a pivotal role in the show. She essays the character of Shruti who plays mother to Ami (Ulka Gupta) and Khusboo (Reem Sheikh). On the same we got in touch with her to know more about what made her take up this show, her family's reaction on seeing her comeback to television and much more.

About the same an elated Gautami said, "It feels great to be back to television after 6 years. It feels like I am back home."

Elaborating on her comeback to television after quite sometime now, she says "I wanted to comeback from quite some time but things were not materializing. Sometimes it used to happen that the script was 'OK' but the distance of the set was a problem, or say time commitment was not possible as they needed me for longer hours of shoot, so somehow it did not happen. When Essel came to me for the narration of the show and the character of Shruti, I just told Ram about it and said that I want to do the show. The character of Shruti is very much close to me in real life and hence I wanted to take up this show."

She feels that she has made the right choice to take up Khelti Hai Zindagi Aankh Micholi, "In the time span of 6 years I was offered many shows too as I said. I am glad that I did not take up the other roles that I was offered and took up this show. I am really happy to be a part of Khelti Hai Zindagi Aankh Micholi."

Gautami has noticed a drastic change in the working of television and she says, "The television then and now has changed a lot. The shelf life of a show is very small and that is really sad. Nowadays the shows are pulled off air left, right and center. I think that is the producer's call, since the audience does not have the patience to let the show grow. Nowadays it is also like there is no bank for the episodes, they shoot in the morning and the episode telecast is on the next day. Hence the quality of the show suffers."

Further she elaborated saying, "I was scared and was wondering on will I be able to cope up with this working environment. But then as an actor you have to mold yourself. The best thing that Ram told me is - Go there and have fun, do your best and leave the rest, which is what I am following."

Gautami clears the speculations that were made on her coing in Balaji Telefilm's daily soap Pavitra Rishta, "I really don't know anything about Pavitra Rishta. If it would have had materialized then everybody would have had known about it. Or maybe I can say that things might have been in the pipeline but they did not come up to me."

The character of Shruti will set a benchmark for her and she says, "After Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi where I replaced Smriti Zubin Irani, which was a big replacement this role of Shruti is a change for me. No comparison at all. I will play the character of Shruti as per my understanding and that will be the benchmark. I feel really happy that I have taken up this show and I am looking forward to its on air dates."

Her family members are extremely happy to see her getting back to television, "Ram has not yet seen the promos of the show, but he will catch it on You-Tube. I totally understand that since his schedule is too busy. My close friends and family members are thrilled to see me back on television."
