John Abraham announced the face of National Geographic Channel.

The hunk with a soft heart- that is John Abraham for you as he admits to love animals and wild life so much so that he has adopted elephants too.

World's leading infotainment channel, National Geographic today announced John Abraham as the face of the channel. Speaking at the occasion, John shared his passion for adventure and the wild life streak that he would want to follow one day.

I was most excited to be the face of National Geographic - I am close to nature and love tigers, elephants and other animals too so when I see a channel that symbolizes all this and stands for all you are most excited to be associated with it. It's a graduation of my life to be a face of the channel.

I believe in the philosophy of the campaign - Not only am I really excited to be the face of National Geographic but also excited to endorse a philosophy that I believe is very relevant in today's times be it unlocking your fear, unlocking your boundaries or unlocking the truth. I need to unlock my excitement. The campaign we have shot for also symbolizes all this. I too want to explore many more things in life and there philosophies to unlock and experiment different things and I too agree to all of their thoughts.

I don't watch GECs - Whenever I am at home, I don't watch any GEC but I watch either sports or National Geographic. I love Super Cars and one programme I really love is Mega Structures as we are a family of architects and that is a programme we all watch together and have lots of fun. I am also most excited about watching Inside IPL.

Wildlife is very close to my heart - I like to be with animals and particularly snakes. During the campaign too I was most excited about shooting with the phython. If I would get to live my life amongst animals I would love to live with tigers, elephants and snakes.

I have an adventurous streak - I'd like to do lot of adventurous things like going for base camps in the Himalayas, visit the Amazon jungles or climb the Everest and document it too. I want to do many more things if I get time from shooting. I have a passion for motorcycle and for the Wildlife. People think since I am a film star I would want to travel to Paris, London and such places but I would want to explore the wild side. I have a gypsy and want to explore many more places soon.

I don't fear anything - There is no animal that freaks me out and I'm in sync with all of them as I love animals. I think they are very sweet and it is in fact human beings who scare me. I don't even fear failure since I've learnt a lot from failure so I use it in the most constructive manner. Even though I've a strong and tough exterior, emotionally I am a soft person inside.

I have visited many wildlife sanctuaries - I have in fact stayed there for 3-4 months where I and my partner Mike Pandey were shooting for a documentary on tiger cubs and on an extinct species of horse shoe crabs. Mike is a green Oscar award winner and we have stayed in core areas of these sanctuaries where you need special permission to stay.

I have adopted elephants - I have adopted 50 elephants who are located in Shahpur. They need lots of water to drink and eat fresh vegetation so Shahpur is the ideal location for them where they are very well taken care of.
