Independence Week with Rithvik Dhanjani

15th August, the Indian Independence Day marks the freedom of our county and the people who have made this possible are our Late Freedom Fighters who sacrificed their lives to gift us a life free from the daunting British Raj. On this special day, we will celebrate the Independence Week where we will get in touch with Telly Celebs to share their feelings about this precious day.

We spoke to Rithwik Dhanjani to share his thoughts about the Independence Day

All  freedom fighters are my favorites. It is unfair to choose one as each and everyone has contributed their whole and soul to make us free. If it was not for them.  then we wouldn't be free.

One of your favorite patriotic song?

'Aao bacho tumhe deekhaye jhaaki Hindustan ki..'

The difference between celebrating Independence Day when you were a kid and the difference now when you have grown up?

I was brought up in Dubai so did not celebrate the Indian Independence Day. But, yes we used to get flags at home and try dedicating a day for the Independence of India and feel proud to be an Indian.

What do you feel about the Independence day?

When I was a child I really did not know much about the Independence Day. I just knew it was a holiday and that is what made me very happy. It was a day to enjoy. When I discovered the significance of this day, I was really proud to be an Indian. To hear inspiring stories about the freedom fighters is just commendable. All thanks to them that we are being able to see this day of freedom.
