Most of our Television actors get time to read in between shots and those who love reading make the most of it. Some of our book loving TV celebs share their book secrets with TellyBuzz -
Shashank Vyas, Actor – Balika Vadhu:
"When I was around 21years old I was in Indore and studying B.com I had a lot of free time and that is when I got into book reading. However, even as a child, I used to read and was more into comics of Indian superheroes. I had a collection of more than 150 comics. Now, I am more into non-fiction books like 'You can win' and biographies. I also like Chetan Bhagat's 'One night at the call centre'. The one book that I can read again and again is 'You can win by Shiv Khera' for it's simple language with best examples. Currently I am reading 'Rich dad poor dad' by Robert Kiyosaki. I feel I am still developing my habit of reading and I like to read when I am alone. However, I never keep any book by my bed side.Yash Patnaik, Producer – Beyond Dreams Entertainment Ltd., Ek Veer Ki Ardaas...Veera on Star Plus and Life OK's Junoon - Aisi Nafrat, Toh Kaisa Ishq:
"I started reading at the age of 5 years and as a child I liked reading Chandamama and Tin Tin. While earlier, I was into fiction later on when in college I started reading more of non-fiction. My favourite book which I read again and again is 'Malgudi Days' by RK Narayanan. At my bed side you will always find a MacBook and the book that I am reading currently is 'In the Line of Fire: A Memoir - Parvez Musharraf'. I love reading but due to my busy hectic schedule, I get to read books only while traveling."Pooja Pihal, Actress, Hum Aapke Hai In-Laws :
"I started reading at the age of 8 and as a child I used to read Superman, Chandamama, Tinkle, Archies, Richie Rich, Readers Digest etc. Now I read both fiction as well as non-fiction. I also love reading cookery books… You won't find any books by my bed side table… The favorite book which I read many times is 'Secrets' which is also the book I keep at my bed side. Currently, I'm reading 'The Immortals of Meluha'. Books are a source of relaxation for me and I read books whenever I find the time. I am also interested in knowing what my friends are reading…"Aklaque Khan, Actor, Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha Season 2:
"I used to read even when I was in school and at that time I used to love reading Hindi comics. Chacha chowdhary was my favourite. Nowadays, I read mostly non-fiction. I remember I started with 'Tough times never last but Tough people do' by Robert Schuller and I have learnt a lot from that book. Then when I came to Mumbai I read this book named 'Jonathan Livingston Seagull' by Richard Bach and it has helped and inspired me a lot. I can say that even for the 'Alchemist' by Paulo Coelho. My favourite book that I read again and again is 'Awaken the Giant within' by Anthony Robbins.Currently, I am reading 2 to 3 books together. One is 'People watching' by Desmond Morris and 'The power of subconscious mind' by Joseph Murphy. I always keep whichever book that I am reading by my bed side. I read whenever I get the time. During my free time I either watch a movie or read books."
Aishwarya Sakhuja, Actor, Host of India's Dancing Superstar:
"I started reading at the age of 4 and was a huge Enid Blyton fan. I read all kinds of books, and if it's a good book than the genre doesn't matter. My favorite books in non-fiction are 'Many lives many masters' and 'You can heal your life' and in fiction it is 'Short stories' by Sadat Hasan Manto. Currently, I'm reading Jhumpa Lahiri's 'Interpreter of Maladies'. At my bed side, I have 'A book of affirmations' by Louise Hays. I don't get time but I usually read before sleeping.Reporter: Anwesha Kamal
