Manish Raisinghani's Slam Book!

Manish Raisinghani, who is currently seen playing the character of Siddhant in Rashmi Sharma Telefilms' popular show Sasural Simar Ka on Colors, spared time to answer our slam book questions.

Hometown: Ajmer (Rajasthan)

Describe yourself: I could never define myself as I believe the minute you define yourself you confine yourself. I am so unpredictable even to myself that I manage to surprise myself more often than not with my own behavior.

Strengths: Baba Ranbir Kapoor ne ek advt mein kaha tha "Keep it simple silly" bas wahi simplicity is my strength which helps me stay grounded in the biggest success and despair. 

Weakness: Emotions! This is probably the only part of me which makes me vulnerable that it can easily make me go weak on my knees.

What can easily impress you:  Gestures that are done to Express and not to Impress. I believe any action done from your heart reaches the heart and the minute one involves the mind however beautiful the gesture is, it will eventually reach your heart but via mind which kills the beauty of things.

Hobbies:  Lots to begin with learning. Learning anything new as I am a very curious case and apart from that I enjoy all kind of sports including adventure sports, martial arts, photography, editing film making and lots more.

A cloud 9 moment for you: Lots... love in abundance always takes me to that elevation. The recent one was when couple of polls were conducted by a website about TV stars and I was a winner by huge margin. I would like to thank the fans who kept voting for me by spending their precious time for me and to make me a winner. Now that victory honestly means nothing to me as these polls to me hardly matter but the amount of love they showered on me drove me to a cloud 9 moment and I was humbled to have received such a response. For which all I can say is a big thank you.

Do you believe in destiny:  Yes I do and believe in shaping it too.

Song you're humming these days: Hmmm its usually this song from Yes Boss movie "Bas itna sa khwwab hai" which is on my mind and I truly mean it.

Any TV show you follow: Friends! It is one show hands down can make me laugh in any situation. It always gives me a feel that its Chandler Monica Ross Rachel Joey Phoebe and ME. I am their seventh friend but a non interacting one who chooses to b a spectator (not that I have a choice)

An unforgettable day of your life: Lots...I have lived a life which can be called a life less ordinary" because my every day is a phenomenon I guess and I love it this way.

Describe your daily routine in short: Wake up, come to shoot, pack up go for another shoot if I have which I usually do then go home n sleep. But in between that daily routine there is a lot of mischief, lots of learning, lots of experimenting, lots of brainstorming of new ideas and lots of positive and  productive stuff.

What's your favorite pass time during your free time on the sets:I totally believe time is money and being a Sindhi I do not waste any of it. I have my window to the world that is my laptop and my cell phone with high speed internet. And through that window I explore, learn create and seek knowledge.  I thoroughly enjoy it and if Im not doing any of that be rest assured Im up to some mischief.

Craziest fan encounter so far: A rather embarrassing one because while we were shooting in a mall a college girl jumped on me to kiss me but my staff and crew were efficient enough to save my "izzat" but I landed up getting hurt. 

Best compliment ever received: Compliments are best forgotten after you have received and expressed your gratitude for the same. Because compliments have a very soothing effect which can even pacify the fire in your belly to achieve more and make you enter a comfort zone which is not good for the hunger for success.

Your inspiration: I draw inspiration from everything around me. For humility its Mr. Amitabh Bachchan, for wit its Mr. Shah Rukh Khan, for a golden heart its Mr. Salman Khan, for a heart of gold and for sensitivity its Mr. Aamir Khan and the list goes on and on.

You're incomplete without: My family. My people mean everything to me and they complete me.

Message to your fans: A star is a star only because of his fans. Thank you for showering so much of love and blessings. I am today an actor because of you all who have made me somebody from nobody. God Bless you all!!
