Telly stars reminisce about their college days during the inter-collegiate festive season!

Telly town actors share their experiences about the inter collegiate festival and participation in these college fests…

It is that time of the year when these glamorous and star-studded city colleges are all ready and pull up their socks to win the inter-collegiate fests. Be it the top ranked college's fest or the Newbie College who has just taken its baby steps, these colleges take pain staking efforts to win the title of best college in every competition that is organized by several colleges in and around Mumbai.

TellyBuzz brings to you the experiences of some actors during their college days and their participation in these college fests. Let's see what these actors have to share with us...

Vrinda dawda

Vrinda Dawda, last seen as Tani in Channel V's Dil Dostii Dance

"Yes! I used to take part in college fests while I was in college. My interest area was always dancing and then modeling. I tried modeling in college but it didn't work out because I realized that there are other girls too who are prettier than me. And also I was not too much of a girl during college. I was very tomboyish. One thing I love about these fests is that you can bunk lectures and there is no one to stop you for this. I have bunked many lectures in the name of practice for the fests (laughs).

In my first year itself I made many friends who were all senior to me so no one could actually rag me. Now when these fests and colleges call me as judge for a competition, it feels like I am back to my college. It is simply amazing to see fresh, new and good talented kids. They also have family support. I have always stood up for the good talent."

Soumya

Soumya Seth, last seen as Aaradhya in Sony TV's Dil Ki Nazar Se Khoobsurat

The very bubbly Soumya says all excitedly, "Yes! I have attended many college fests and mainly fashion show competitions. I never stuck to one particular event. I did not have that flair for a particular event. Jis jagah par koi pasand kar le waha me chali jati thi. One experience that I will always remember is that of 'Wars of DJ' that I had attended during 'Umang'. These college fests are all about fun, enjoyment and taking part in fashion shows- is the best thing.

Today when I go to colleges as a judge, I get that awesome feeling. It is just so amazing to see the talent. And it is like OMG! Seriously!! Me as a judge?! These fests are more like festivals and less of competitions for me. 'Malhar' is the best inter-collegiate fest. I love attending 'Malhar'".

Bhavya Gandhi as TapuBhavya Gandhi, seen as Tappu in SAB TV's Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah

"Yes! I do take part in college fests. Since it is my first year in college, I am totally enthusiastic of taking part in all the competitions held by several colleges. I had taken part in 'Malhar' and 'Umang' this year and also rehearsed for it, but because of my back - to- back shoots I couldn't perform and had to step back. Also, I am a part of 'Mithibai Drama Team' of my college.

We, Mithibai Drama Team, had taken part in IPTA for performing arts and secured several awards such as Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Play, Best Director, Best Production and Best To-Marriage (side actors). Moreover, the entire team of Taarak Mehta is very co-operating. They leave me at 1:00 pm to attend lectures and after college I directly go back on the sets to continue the shooting. I am looking forward for many such fests and competitions as the fest season has just begun!"

Ragini KhannaRagini Khanna, last seen as host for Zee TV's India's Best Dramebaaz

"Umm ...not at all. I have just attended a few for fun. Whenever I took part, it was either singing, dance or for acting competition. College fests are always fun because you actually do not need to attend lectures. My attendance was never more than 2-3% in college.

Also, I was very popular in college and people knew me so that was also a bonus point for me. But yes, now when I attend these fests as a judge it feels just amazing and also odd and awkward at the same time. There was a time when I was denied an entry during 'Malhar' and this year I was a judge for 'Malhar'."
